Ok ive had this problem for the past 2 years (yellow leaves) I planted them in 1 bag of regular topsoil the cheap kind from lowes and used this much fertilizer which is the green bottle Osmacoat but im thinking it not over fetilising because i have no algea in the pots and i also topped with pea gravel . I need a solution please . I just have no clue what the problem is. i have 4 diffrent pots of lotus all planted the same way .

Pond Chat / Re: N Pygmaea
« on: April 24, 2010, 11:13:43 PM »
N. minuta will not survive in zone 7 outside they are tropical.  Helvola is hardy so it will winter in your pond in zone 7. My pygmea overwintered in a 15 in pond depth in zone 6 with 3 days at minus 13*F.

I have had N minuta for 2 years in my pond and it has survives the winter at about elbow depth  my pygmea sitiing right by it didnt survive this winter I dont know what could have happened to it but it was mush when i went to plant it . Ive also had several once named tropical lilys survive winters in my pond .

That's weird. I have lots of N. pygmaea, they're just not up yet. I hate to pick my blooms before they're ready, but if I do get plants I'd be glad to send you one.
Karen I would love to get one or mabye 2 from you just let me know when

« on: August 08, 2009, 09:46:47 PM »
I used peroxide a couple weeks ago for string algea in one of my ponds ( its about 1000 gallons ) I used 3 of the 16 ounce bottles and in about 3 days it was totally dissolved. Didnt hurt my fish plants or my pocket.

Thanks for the comments!! The flower pots that have water comming out are my only filters I just filled them up with lava rocks and stuck a marginal in them and let it go.  That is a pic of my falls but I dont have it running I need to get a pump for it . I dont grow the passion vine in the pond its in a pot and this is the first bloom ive had with it and member of another forum sent it to me it took 2 years for it to bloom but its very pretty and I would love to have more. I really dont know that much about them.

« on: June 04, 2009, 04:34:55 PM »
Hey all my lotus leafs are kinda yellow and have a few brown spots on them and  I dont know what to do to make them green up. I used Joyces Method except I didnt use a half cup of osmacoat I used probably around 1/4 cup I planted them in them laundry tubs with the rope handles you get at walmart If I need to add more fetilizer how to I go about adding it and also I was wandering if I could but the dead floating lotus leafs off.
