Chit Chat / Re: Need some prayers for happyoutsidegirl's husband!

Debbie, this may sound strange but you can make grief your friend.  What you are going through, and you will get through it, will make you strong.  Someday you will look back and wonder how you ever did it, and you will look at yourself and know you did and are a better person for it. Grief is just not the emotional but the physical as well. Some people can't sleep, some can't eat.  For me I felt as though I had been kicked in the pit of my stomach. Because of the physical assault on your body and  the emotional toll, remember to rest and be kind to yourself. You have a wonderful family, and a strong faith, all of which will support you and help you.  In the long run however, it is a walk you walk alone because it was your husband and no one can know exactly how you feel.

Esther, I am been lurking for sometime now.  Trying to get to know the posters.  You all are such a loving and caring group of people.  Please know I am praying for Braeden. and your family. Hospitals are scarey places for childlren, and what he is going through is hard on adults.  The amazing thing is children have wonderful spirits and are real troopers when it comes to cancer treatments.  We could all take a lesson from them.

I met Debbie on the Aquascape Forum over a year ago, and she has been a frequent poster on the IPPCA Forum.  I know she is a person of strong faith and will draw strength from that faith during this time.  Knowing that so many people are praying for Bill must be a great comfort to her. Watching your loved one struggle to breath and not being able to help is one of the worst experiences anyone can have.  I know because I have been there.  Hugs and prayers .

Hi Everybody.  Haven't posted much.  We have been soooooooooo busy pulling algae.  Our Georgia weather changes from day to day.  I keep hoping with the warm weather the stringey stuff will disappear.  But then it gets cold and comes back with a vengeance.  This will be the first year we do not do a clean out.  I'm hoping our new system will allow us to skip it.  I have stirred up the gravel and except for an occasional leaf, there is nothing coming up from under the gravel.  When we put the pond in back in 2004 I wanted the tall grass and lots of it.  Golly if I had know then how messy that stuff is and that it takes over and makes eveything look like a jungle, I would have had much less.  So we have been taking out alot of those plants to take to out club's plant sale this spring. Glad to see all my old friends here and happy to meet new ones.  What about Nancy.  Has anyone PM'd her.  She would enjoy it.

We showed dogs for over twenty years and usually had seven dogs.  Also had a business in our home and three kids. My husband was an antique train collector, antique car collector and active in the boy scouts. Believe me when I say our home was a zoo all the time.  I look back now and wonder how I kept my sanity.

Hi Debbie, Go for Linda.  Nancy should come on too.  She is just too bored up there in Canuck Land.

What a great idea, we have one of those large  pre-formed home depot fish ponds, which we have never used.  Wouldn't that work as a lilly pond?  I have  a sunny spot where it would be really beautiful?

Hi Debbie,  Not in the warm sunny south, rather the frozen sunny south.  22 degrees today.  The fish aren't even moving. Doug is a southerner and doesn't understand when I tell him, northern cold is different from southern cold.  The cold today is a northern cold.  The kind one likes to be out in.  Later today, I'll go out and do my favorite thing, pull out string algae.  Oh my aching back!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.  I haven't figured out how to post pictures.  What buttons do I push?  Things are pretty brown here in Georgia, and this current cold snap has really hit hard.  This is our first year with the Russelll Water Garden system, so I'm hoping we can avoid the annual spring cleanout. I'll have to get out the waders when things warm up a little, and stir up the gravel.  That will tell the story if we need to do it. Hope everyone had a Happy Valentines day. :)

Hi Guys,  Just thought I would drop in and say hello.  I'm looking forward to reading about your ponds and seeing pictures.  Our pond is three years old and we have seven koi kids.
