Pond Chat / Newbie-again

Hi guys. I posted last June about a hot tub my DD and SIL set up while fixing up our yard.
I got pretty hooked on having a pond, but we had bad luck with that "pond" and gave up after loosing 3 sets of fish due to (probably) chemicals poisoning the fish.
We found a formed pond, about 270 gal, at a yard sale for $20 about 4 weeks ago. I had some hyacinth from a friend, found a couple other plants and let the pond sit for a week before we added some little comets. 6 of them. They all look different and have names. We misplaced Slash for a couple of days and decided he had been et by one of the kitties, but he showed up yesterday in one of the troughs around the edge of the pond. All 6 are now happily zipping around together! Shadow is hard to see cause he is a charcoal colored fish in a black pond.
I turn off the fountain, then tap on it when it's feeding time and they all come rushing over now! Pretty good for just a few weeks!
It is so surrounded by potted plants, it's hard to tell that it is an above ground pond!
We moved a garden bench that my DH had carved with fish (he's a woodcarver by trade) in front of the pond and it's our favorite place to sit and read!
I'll be jumping in here with alot of questions!
I think when we fix up our front yard we will be doing a much larger permanent pond. Hopefully I'll know alot more by then, thanks to you guys!
