Pond Chat / I worked on the pond again today

I got one whole side of rock lowered the way I want. Now its not sticking up above the water. Tonight I built a fire and set out by it for awhile. I wish some of you lived closer.

Hybridizing How To's... / I have quite a few baby Nymphaea pygmaea

I was wondering when is the best time to transplant these. They came up in a plant in my whiskey barrel. The whole barrel was full of seedlings but I never could get them to grow once I put them in sand. they died almost right off. I had them in shallow water and put them in 4 ich pots of sand. I transplanted tropicals the same way and did not loose any of them.

I went outside this moring and I noticed seeds floating all over the top of my lily pond. They were from one end to the other and they must have come from more than one lily. I scooped up about a tablespoon full of seed. I am just going to play with these this winter.

Well its not the prettiest I have seen but I am going to keep it if I can. This is its first bloom I am hoping that it will get better as it grows. The spekled moroon pad belongs to the bloom no the green pads

These are a couple more of my favorite lilies. I hope Craig comes here sometimes. I feel bad he sent me this great lily and then I left the other forum. It is doing so well now.

TammiCA sent me this lily in the spring of 2004. It was my very first tropical water lily. I thought I had lost it until they bloomed this summer. They are in 4 inch pots and have been there since fall of 2004.

This seed came up in a pot I left outside dry all winter. I sure like the leaf. Its almost big enough to bloom I think this leaf is bigger than my hand.
