Yesterday afternoon, we were all on the beach in the sunshine with temps in the very high 70's . . . . might have even made it to 80 degrees.

Today I'm home and it's gray and dreary and hasn't gotten above 45 degrees.  I'm freezing my butt off!

. . . . involving a death certificate?  My crazy sister's boyfriend has been trying to get his fat fingers on a certified copy of Dad's death certificate since before the body was removed.  His latest ploy to get one is that he 'needs' it to get the utilities changed out of Dad's name and into my sisters . . . . I called the utility companies and that's just flat not true.  So I changed them out of Dad's name for her . . . .

What on earth can he possibly want one for?

of hiding!  She's the most skittish cat I've ever known, but she's getting lonely.  She has been venturing out of her hidey hole a bit more every day.  She will now let the girls play with her, but not yet touch her - at least not when she's out!  She wants to be petted, but she only lets them touch her in her hidey hole - the bottom bunk bed of a set of doll beds from when I was a child.

just didn't want anyone to worry about me when I disappear again.  I'm heading south for a little rest and recuperation - and I really need it too!  Gonna stay at the beach for about a week - be back around New Years eve or so . . . .  Nothing to worry about this time.

This is our new cat . . . . the girls promised my Dad that they would take care of his beloved Cat2.  She isn't really very happy right now, but she has a home and they will love her until she comes around.  She's a purebred Maine Coon - she was supposed to be a breeding female, but it didn't work out.

Chit Chat / Today was a good Thanksgiving

I've got a lot to be thankful for . . . . beautiful children, wonderful pets, happy household, dear family close at hand and things that are bad could be so much worse.  Saw several of my siblings today and my Mom - didn't get to hug Dad, but know he's ok because brothers and sisters who were with him said so.  DH made a fabulous smoked turkey and I got to sit at a table surrounded by my favorite family members and have a wonderful meal . . . . who could ask for more than that?  I do so hope that everyone else had as much to be thankful for today and enjoyed the day as much.

He came home in a very bad mood yesterday.  The girls noticed that there was a 'silver car' in the driveway, looked and his wasn't there, so they asked him where he left his car.  So he tells us he wrecked it.  Well they had fun exploring the new car and seeing what it looked like inside (it's the same kind he said he was going to buy me if mine ever dies - it's got 95000 miles on it and it breaks, but it hasn't died yet.)

Now, DH's car is not new, in fact it's almost 8 years old.  But if you got in it, you'd never know it was more than a month old - he keeps it absolutely spotless and it didn't have a scratch on it.  He really takes good care of his car.  The loaner is stained and looked filthy because of it, and I know he hates that!

Well, to make matters worse, the girls noticed this morning that the back window of his loaner, which is an SUV, and noticed that it was shattered and had a huge hole in it.  Looked out in the driveway and see the rest of the window.  It seems the poor guy isn't used to driving an SUV and so he backed it into a tree and the nub where a branch used to be went thru the window.

Talk about your bad day - two wrecks for the price of one!

DD#1 took some of her babysitting proceeds and bought herself a new and bigger Ipod (I get her hand-me-down  ).  It was ordered Sunday, and we were watching the tracking . . . . nothing . . . . never moved after being picked up at the shippers.  I had to put a signed sheet outside if I wanted them to leave it, but I didn't want to put it out till the thing was coming.  The tracking site still said projected delivery on the 6th of November.

So this morning I went for my usual walk and when I came home, I saw the fed ex truck at the bottom of my driveway!  Ran all the way down the street, staying right in front of that truck and didn't let him go anywhere.  Knocked on his window and asked if he had delivered the package and he said "nobody was home".  So I convinced him to give it to me and now I have it!!  She's gonna be so happy (and I'm not?)!!!

on your eyeball?  DD#1 got one today.  This isn't the first time she's done that either.  She's cut her eyeball at least 4 times and this is at least the second paper cut, but it's not as bad as the first time she did it. 

Can I tell you, it made my afternoon!?!?!?!

Technology Talk / Need help with 'puter settings

DD#1 changed some setting so now everytime the computer does anything a window pops up and asks you if you want to allow ActiveX to run.  I'm not sure what she did, but besides that, her screen is trying to die.  I need to get her puter running well enough to pull her files off onto mine - even without the screen.  I can do it thru the wireless network, but need to clear up the active x thingy.

Anyone have any ideas what she did?

I'm absolutely freezing here . . . it's only 44 degrees outside and feels like it is the same inside! 

Our expected high for today is only 57 degrees which is just too cold for this person!
