Pond Chat / Water fertilizer

I saw here a while back that adding pot ash to the water will help the plants. Any problems with adding this to pond water? how much at what doseage and how often is it added? I saw solable Pot ash at our local hardware store. it was 60% potasium. Thanks

My local pond store dealer said Anacharis is going to be late this year maybe 3 more weeks. Does anyone have Anacharis to sale? Thanks Shaun

Pond Chat / INCREASING WATER TEMPS

Does anyone use any solar water heaters? In the cooler later season areas. Would increasing the water temp with a solar system give the pond a early start? I don't mean super heating the pond just something to get steady temps up a little for a possible earlier season. My pond is about 2400 gal. about 14X14 and half of the pond is about 36-40" deep. I normally will not see first bloom till late June first of July. Need some insightful input. Thanks

Not everyone list their locations. Are there any members from the Virginia area? I am in the the central valley area. Our local dealer mentioned starting a water garden club but that never devoloped. Would like to find some ponding friends in the surounding area.

Pond Chat / Solar power and battery power (was Bacteria and aeration)

Do others out there use the bacteria products out there? I use Clarity Max+. But I heard of a product called Organica. does is anyone use this product? Does anyone use aeration in there pond? any comments on the pro's or con's on aeration.
