Pond Chat / Full grown Lotus Plant

Bought a full grown Lotus plant. In my 15 years of water gardening, I've never had any success with the incredible Lotus plant. I've bought multiple roots but all rotted.
This time however while on vacation here in Boca Raton Florida I found this beautiful full grown plant. Now to bring home on the plane......

Pond Chat / Perry D arrived

Perry D arrived now what? I've been a lotus killer since 2000 and stopped trying to grow them after two years. Ten years later today I received a full plant from Lotus Express Plants even though they are only whole sellers he sold one to me   

I floated the plant but poured some sand on it so that it touches the course sand below.

Is this a good plan? Any advise? Please

Pond Water Quality / Green water gone in two days!

I have a UV Sterilzer from Emperor Aquatics which I bought 10 yrs ago. The green water usually disapears when my skippy kicks in gear along with my Hyacint plants growing out of control. However ever since I started up my skippy (three years ago,) i have not setup the sterilzer.

With this crazy weather the green water is out of control!

The best part is I setup the UV Sterilzer and in two days it cleared up the water! Wahoo I can see my fish!

Pond Chat / What's your favorite Nelumbo (Lotus) plant?

Over the years the only plant that I tried to start and just couldn't has been the infamous Lotus. I think I'm a Lotus killer.

Any suggestions? Is it too late to start up a lotus root?

Pond Chat / My near white in named Lillie bloomed today

I bought these Lillie over ten years ago, but these very light pink (almost white) Lillie's only bloom once or twice during the summer.
