Pond Chat / Dont really know what this lily is.

I got a Giantea from Kat in 2010 and it grew really nice. I left it outside so I assumed it died. Well this spring I found to lilies in a different stock tank wit odd shapped leaves and they were not planted. Now I reused my pots with out putting in new soil so I could have thrown these tubers in the tank thinking they were dead or something I really dont know. But anyway one of them bloomed today.

I was one of the lucky ones and got mine. Let me tell you this is a huge lily the pads are over 18 inches long and I have only fertilized once this year.

The water still had ice on it. I had left some lilies out. I tried to make a greenhouse but it fell down. I dont know what the other lilies look like. They at least have some protection. These are Pink Flamingo and Black Prince. There are 11 tubers and all are sprouting. They started sprouting 2 days after putting them in warm water with a light.

My back is getting a lot worse and its harder to get down ground level to feal  with lilies. So now its stock tanks.

Well the plant changed a lot. I had hoped the leaves would stay maroon but they did not but I still like the lily.

I have had this banana plant for a few years now. Its my favorite one. However it does not make pups. Is it because of the variety? I would love to reproduce this one on a large scale. any ideas.

Does this look like Robert Strawn. I got one from Tammie in California a few years ago. I am almost sure thats what it is. I have a woods Blue Goddess that DavB sent mea  few years ago too and I dont think this is it. This is one of the ones I forgot outside until I found them in January and brought them in. Its in a 4 inch pot so its kind of small. The leaves are green with a few flecks of color.

I just got my lilys back from Lawanna 2 weeks ago and they were pretty small but they are growing fast fast fast. This is a night bloomer that I got from Louann and its already 5 foot wide. the other to leaves are from some seedlings that wintered over outside. They have not ever bloomed yet but the leaves are pretty.

He is 14 years old and I dont get to see him anymore but I sure mis the child he was. I dont mis what he has become though.  I did have a cute one of him where he was out there witha fishing pole trying to make me think he was catching my fish.Heres to you Max.

I live in Oklahoma so this surprises me. Well the green and violet stem have been over witnering for a few years now so I left out some Black and imperial taros to see if they would also.

Lawanna kept most of my lilies for me. I went last Monday and got them. A few had buds on them. I have Blink in a 4 inch pot and I think this other one is Panama Pacific and its in a small pot too.

I am almost positive its Miami rose or Albert greenberg. It was left outside over winter. These are a couple of tubers I dug out of that full pot I posted a pic of. There are multuple crowns all over the tuber like Miami Rose does. I hope its not that Impress Goddess thing I am hoping  I got rid of all of them.

Lawanna came the other day and took most of my hardy lilies. Well at least the ones in the kiddie pools. We found quite a few pots of trops that I had left out, I left N. 'Nangkwag' out of purpose as I hate that lily. The sad thing about it it winters over here for me. We also left a couple of pots that I thought were empty setting out to dry out. Well after the rain this is what sprouted in one of the pots. I am almost sure its a Miami Rose. These are tubers not seedlings. Well not sure what the green one is yet just going to have to wait and see, This had better not be another pot of that N. 'Nangkwag' I just hate that lily. I guess thats why it grows under the ice for me.

Pond Chat / Its going to get real bad here tomorrow night

They are predicting over an inch of Ice. I have a few tropicals that are still outside. I know I left a couple of huge Lavender laces outside but I hve lots of smaller ones to take their place. I noticed this 4 inch pot the other day, I went out today and stuck my hands down in the cold water and plucked it out. I am not sure what it is. I am sure it will be a blue though. It will either be Bob Tricket. Woods Blue Goddess or Robert Strawn. There are 3 nice sized tubers in this pot. We have had quite a bit of ice already this year but I have had quite a few tropical water lilies winter over before.
Here is a list of ones that wintered over outside for me last year. I left these out by mistake but it was a good thing as the ones I tried to winter over died. I am in zone 7b also brought in the last of the wh.

Lavender lace
Tina

I went to lunch with my old boss Monday. I asked him if he could locate my computer and retrieve my pics, He sent them to me in about 30 emails today. I was so glad to get them back. I figured since they have had so many layoffs since my job was eliminated my computer would still be untouched and it was.

I had a great picture of my pond and max my great nephew setting at the pond feeding the fish. It was a couple of years ago and my pond was covered with water lettuce. I have lost that pic and would love to find it. I know I had posted it on AWGS and Koiphen but cannot find it. Some people asked if they could save if for their desktop and I wonder if anyone has that picture? Thanks if advance.

Most of the plants are gone the wh and lettuce have all beed bit back by a freeze and frost. I did have this lily bloom today. most of its pads are under water.
