Pond Construction & Filtration / Connection of Liner to preform

I have tried several different solutions of attaching a liner to a preform. I have tried the tapes, glues etc etc and in each case it all begins to leak. I was stupid originally and made some cuts into the preform, then covered with liner and tried to attach the two..unfortunately it has not worked out. I want to re do the whole things with a better filtration system etc etc...but for now all i am interested in is stopping the leaking so I can maintain a water level thats not dropping 2 inches a day. I do not have the time or want to spend any` money on a total redo right now..I just want to hoepfully fix the connection between the two areas..Any help or suggestions would be appreciates.
