Yeah, some of my lilies have started blooming while others still have their winter leaves and are just sending up pads.   The whites are always hard to capture, but enjoy the pics.

Clyde Ikins is a reliable bloomer that changes over the three days of bloom as well as temperature changes photo has 1 day high in the sky and a third day close to water photo.  One of my favorite new lilies is a MG hybrid he called spikey yellow.  Finally for you Harry Potter fans there is a shot of Hermine.

After total knee replacement surgery I finally got home ~ 3 weeks later to find over 50 blooms.  Here are a few select shots, especially from M. Giles hydrids  The second photo is not great: however it gives a perspective on how large the blooms are that Mike has cultivated.

Pond Chat / Containers on creekside
« on: June 18, 2013, 04:43:27 PM »
Always like to put containers out and around the yard, but with high winds and salt water spray blooming has been retarded.  However, I'm trying red crimson this year and it seems to be doing well.  This is perched on a tree I had to cut down since erosion had completely exposed the tap root and was starting to lean toward my pier.

Pond Chat / Lilies, water plants and containers must go!
« on: June 10, 2011, 06:12:42 PM »
The good news we are going to contract on my PA house.  The bad news is the new owners don't want the ponds.  I find it hard to let my collection go on a trash heap so those of you in the tristate area shoot me a pm and we can set up a time to meet to get what you want.  Clearly I have already taken what I want to VA, but there are a lot of varieties  of lilies: Colorado, Sunny Pink, Crimson Red, Mayla, Peaches and Cream, Georgia Peach, Yellow Comanche, Wow, Almost Black, James Brydon, Perry's Baby Red, Hermine, Hevola, Masinello, Little Sue,  Perry's Fire Opal, Red Spider, Texas Dawn, Dallas, and others that I can't remember.   Lots of Eloda, Water Celery, Variegated Water bamboo, Corkscrew, Water Hibiscuss, LA Iris (Brazo Gold, Gamecock and Knockout).  Also lots of comets and fancy tails.

While I would like to ship, this is a once in a lifetime pick up and go offer only, i.e. I'm too pooped to do anymore!

I haven't divide this one for 3 years and it had jumped a 24" pot with lots of divisions.  While many of the cut tubers with multiple korms, I have a lot of them.  I really had to hack it up due to the entanglement of tubers and roots.  Looking for trade only, ideally Eros or something I don't have.  I thought I had a picture, but can't find it, this lily lives up to its name is all I can say!

Cheers,

Gary

Finally got in the low voltage lights, but having troubles getting good night pics.  Any suggestions on how to get better shots?

I'm really diasppointed I wanted to a shot of the moon (one of the more impression moons I have seen at 1/8, with a wonderful orange and reflection on the water, but by the time I went in and got the camera it was hidden in clouds.

« on: September 13, 2009, 06:18:57 PM »
I forgot how sore one gets when planting perinials.  Over the last few weekends I have transplanted over 100 Iris (Germanic, Siberian and japanese) as well as 60 day lilies...I am sore.  Anyone ready to dig a pond?

Here are a vew shots of the new house.  The last one is the view from the seat that heads out to the Rappahonock River.

Enjoy the photos,

Gary

It's been a hetic summer, but I manage to get a shot of these containers on our dock of mU and Charlies Choice.  I wasn't sure it would make it in a salt water environment.

I have quite a few tubers with buds after dividing a 20" pot today.  I'm interested in some Blue Flag or a hardy I don't have.
