I think it's a tina too. This one doesnt have big blooms and has a bloom everyday. The picture for some reason makes it look like more blue than purple but it is definitely purple.

Someone on ebay sold this plant to me as a blue siam something? I forgot the name that they gave it. It ended up purple and didn't look anything like the picture. :'( Can anyone give me the name of this tropical?

The snails are tearing my water lettuce apart faster than they are reproducing!!! :'( Does anyone know a quick way to get rid of them without harming my fishes? Thanks!!

I'm sorry to hear that your goldfish died. I can't remember how many fishes i've killed over the years. I remember i use to add salt like you did. i think that's the best way to cure a fish disease. how old is your pond?

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. It seems like the fake alligators would work. I think i should give it a try at least. I really did not like the net around my pond.

The same thing happened to me. My pump stopped working and there was no oxygen and me being a student with no money. I couldn't afford a new one. Almost all of my fishes died.  :'( But now I'm starting over!

I would never shoot a bird. I think I would feel bad about it.  :'( The herons here are all white and very pretty   Too bad they eat my fish though

Hi everyone!

I've seen some pictures of fake alligators in ponds and was wondering if they keep away the herons from eating the fishes?

Anyone know? I'm tired of keeping that ugly net over my pond.

I had no idea you could put turtles with fish. I thought the turtles would eat the fish? Can someone clarify? How big do the turtles get?

Home Depot, Lowe's, WalMart--look in the garden section for mosquito dunks.  It has BT which kills mosquito larvae.

Are these bt safe for eating? My mom wants to cook with the lotus and I was wondering if it would be safe to eat the plants?

I had texas dawn before. It's beautiful but it does not bloom that well as other lilies.
