yes sir , never had a fridge till i was about 10 and no tv until i was 12 and those were my uncles old ones . parents never owned a car nor a house [mother got her parents house when they died but she was widowed by then] . never heard of organized sports for kids we just got a group and played what ever we chose . i peddled evening papers and sold the morning paper on street corner before going to school . didn't realize at the time but those were the best days i'll ever have [ although we have many more ''things'' now] . they were also the best days this country will ever see i suspect . . .by the way we used to get two cents each for ''recycling'' pop bottles .

we have had a half inch of rain in last 5 weeks so i was surprised that there were so many fireworks around here both in the towns and by individuals . i'd have thought the fire risk to be to great but i guess that would only be considered after the fact had there been a fire .

i think if people in our neighborhood would have applied the money they spent on fireworks to the national debt it would have paid it in full . it has sounded as though some one were filming a war movie every time it got dark last couple of days . . . .peace. . .i mean PEACE

we had .51 inches , that's one half inch not 51 inches , last month , fourth driest june on record here . we are still about five and a half inches over usual precipitation for the year , i shoveled a lot of snow . . .peace

after ww2 when tv antennas were becoming popular woodpeckers would sit on them and 'peck' . it really made a racket and their favorite time to do it was 6:30 or 7 in the morning . not many antennas left in the cities any more .

a red bellied . we have woodpeckers all the time . i was surprised by an oriole the other day . today there were two turkey vultures eating a fish on other side of pond . i think sometimes the vultures follow me as i jog because i'm bad enough at it that i appear terminal . i wish they were right . . .peace

actually it was run and hit and run . medium size frog was sitting on one of stones surrounding pond when one of the numerous chipmunks was startled by me and raced away and ran right over the frog . the frog was spun end for end and landed on its side while chipmunk never even slowed down . chipmunks are everywhere and i've had them run over my feet , between my feet , and almost over my hand when i was sitting on the drive way . . .peace

the water under mulberry tree that hangs over the big pond has been ''boiling'' all day long for a week or more . it's carp eating the mulberrys that are falling in the water . happens every year but this year has been better than past [more mulberrys ???]. the fish are mostly in the two foot in length size and there are usually a dozen or more . also had about a dozen ducks in the yard most of the time . some just resting in shade from tree and others eating berries . , , ,peace..........oh , when watching these fish going for berries it reminds me of guys chasing a loose football on field during nfl game .

thought i had thread about salt but must have deleted it as i tend to do . someone recommended some salt from tractor supply or lowes or??? would you please recommend it again as i didn't write it down or more likely did write it but lost note which is ,for me , normal . someone else recommended checking 'bonniesplants.com' , to you i say ''thank you , thank you , thank you '' . lastly someone suggested i change profile to reflect me rather than my owner ''2vetts'' . i will attempt to do that please don't laugh at anything i mess up as i'm not good on this thing . . . .peace..........ps . after a couple days ,mon. and tues., last week of high 90's for temp, last few days have been outstanding weather wise ,i wish it could be like this for all of you .

good luck . i know the 'losing' feeling but never found another job . ten years ago i was told on thursday afternoon that friday was my last day . cobraed insurance for 3 years but then wife had to get private medical insurance , it started at about $1000 -----a month-- and has reached more than [by a lot] double that .

i also have a thing about snakes . i manage if i see them at first at a distance of 6 or more [preferably] feet . i see them sometimes when i'm jogging , but in my yard would make me extremely uncomfortable when working in twovetts flower beds [ she designs them , i am 'labor' ] .
