More pictures!  Please be sure to take lots of pictures!
I'd be worried that the indoor pond would raise the humidity in the house... Our climates are very similar.  A freind of mines mother had a small indoor pond in her entry way.  It was open  to the sky too.  The mildew on the walls anywhere near that pond was awful!  I remember being roped into helping clean those walls...

Sabrina got kicked off??!!!  I recorded the show last night, haven't watched it yet... I was sure that Jane was going home... Sabrina!?  Whoa...  Jane said some pretty snarky things in the after show interview.  Something to the effect of that she didn't have the millions of supporters like Marie does, because of her dolls.  And that you can just "walk around" like Mel B did and get a 10.  Sabrina got kicked off?  Gee... I thought this was a dancing competion... I'm wrong again...

Be safe!  I have many memories of Calif. fires!  I left when I was 10.  I remember one year my mom told us that when we saw the fire at the top of the hill behind our house we would have to evacuate - and then she left for work!

I've never seen a list of viviparous lilies.  Doesn't mean there isn't one, I've just never seen one.  The lily you're calling "red ruby" - I think you mean N. Ruby.  N. Ruby is a hot pink viviparous lily.  There is a huge problem with lilies being called by the wrong name, then the lily is past along with a incorrect name.  I don't think N. Ruby would be considered a "purple" either.  It definetly is pink.  N. Queen of Siam is another pink vivip.  N. Star of Siam is not a vivip.  Other blue vivip are N. Dauben, N. Edward Uber.  A couple of purple vivips would be N. Lavender Lace, and I'd think that N. Islamorada would be considered a purple.

P.S. - My daughter will be moving to Austin in about a month.  She'll either be in law school soon, or she's applied to the Austin Police Dept.  Hope it's law school that happens!

Scott, I thought you were buying a place?  This new place sounds a 1000x's better than where you are now!
Tammie

Glad I don't have to worry about heating the water!  I think you all should just move here - problem solved!
I don't remember if Louis used a new or used heater...  I do remember him posting pictures of the burned area on the plywood...  Where is that boy!?
Tammie

172
I wouldn't trust the waterbed heater...  Correct me if I'm wrong - but a waterbed heater is placed on a sheet of plywood, which is on a platform - i.e. air space under it.  If you put it on the ground, or anything solid, you'll not have any air circulation.  I do beleive that that was the problem when Lou tried it.  No air circulation= melted, overheated waterbed heater.

Louis used a waterbed heater one year...and it caught on fire!

Kim, you want the "runt"?  She wasn't doing so well, competeing with her 3 siblings.  So I put here in with Maya's one puppy and now she's doing much better. Maya is a good mommy, doesn't mind the extra one, and Maya's puppy loves the company!

I was born in Orange County, CA and got used to earthquakes.  I remember one Halloween I was eating a sandwich, sitting in the "big" chair, watching "Groovy" - does anyone remember that beach dance show?  We had a earthquake and the big chair "danced" across the floor, and then "danced" back again.  Just kept eating my sandwich and watching "Groovy", just a almost weekly thing, those earthquakes.
Last October when we had that pretty good size earthquake here everybody was running around the house, slightly panicing, except me.  lol   For goodness sake it's just a earthquake!  Then the power went off.  Now that made me mad!
Glad everthing is okay, and your cheeks aren't bruised, are they?!  lol

My hubby is a lawyer...  lol
Sounds like you have a bit of whiplash.  Go to your doctor or chiro guy.  Make sure you doc.  everything.  Keep a journal.  Even if you feel 100% in a couple of days ( I hope you do!) you'll have a record if things flare up in a few months.  I don't think you need to see a lawyer yet... Just keep good records now.  How you feel, what the doctor say, what hurt when you did it, etc.

Nope. Not a breeder.  But I do seem to take in stray dogs ... and people.  And stray people with dogs....  A freind from high school who fell on hard times broke her hip.  Since she was living on the beach we let her stay with us.  4 surgeries and 3 years later she, and her dogs, are still here!  Spitfire is my baby, the others are hers. Only Cowie was suppose to be breed...
But aren't they the cutest!?
