Tootsie:

These photos were in Zone 7, I have some Rose mallow that are growing wild on the banks so I believe it would do just fine in a bog gardem.

Hey Jerry:

I guess that was after the earthquake lol.  Again thanks to all.

Jerry, thank you for arranging for the beautiful weather, the Wedding was a Firestone Winery in Solvang with incredible vistas.  Their Pinot Noir was good, but I wasn't thrilled with some of their other varieties.  I had a great time driving up 154 from Santa Barbara my cousin was white knuckled and kissed the ground when we landed , err arrived in Solvang.

Hey Jerry:

Good suggestion for lunch.  Wow after a few beers the photos do look clear.  Thanks for being patient with my arrival...I didn't realize I needed a helicopter.  I don't know how people deal with 405 everyday, but I'm glad I don't have too.

Hi Ladies and Gents:

I'm here.  I have family obligations tonight in Newport, but I am up for whichever restaurant is preferred at high noon on Friday. I am somewhat flexible on time (other family obligations in the evening in Venice).  I love all food, as many can tell from my sevelt figure.  I'm heading out now, but will check when I get back to the hotel.

Cheers,

Gary

Have fun Jerry!

Didn't realize you were heading to Stockholm, it is a beautiful city/  My wife grew up in one of the suburbs.  You could probably spend weeks walking around, it is a very clean city...enjoy the parks (lots of sun bathing  {:-P;;)

Thanks again.  I agree I like lots of space, but I need to keep it in check.  My gardens here in PA are getting too big for me to keep up!!

Mike:

Congratulations, this is indeed a special achievement.  Lot's of famous hybridizers have long sought this, but you clearly found a way.

Will you be offering it for sale any time soon, because I would love one.

Hey Louis:

I feel your pain on the deer...my solution was to have someone develop the 188 acres behind my house...no habitat no deer.  Even though I still got Lyme disease  earlier this Summer and the darn deer think of my potted lilies as their own ergonomic feeder.  I think I just ought to have a summer regement of antibiotics!!

Beautiful photos, I still want to try Charlie's Pride  in the future!

Cheers,

Gary

Hey Sean:

Every time I see your patio I'm amazed with all of the work that goes into it.  I really lie the clematis... I will have to find it on line.

Cheers,

Gary

It's good to see it has come back from the fire!  Has one of the most diverse menus I've seen, also the belly dancers are fun.

Pond Chat / Re: MANY photos from Longwood Gardens!
« on: August 04, 2010, 05:50:26 PM »
Actually the Philly area is full of great gardens, but Longwood is recognized internationally as one of the best gardens in the world.  Other gardens in the Philly area are Chanticlair, Winthurer, and Barnes foundation (also one of the most impressive single art collections that will only be shown at the mansion a few more months.  I'm amazaed how one person could collect so much significant pieces, over 150 Renoir's, in additon to some of Matisse's important works, Seurat, Picasso, Van Gaugh, Cezzane, Monet along ith 100s of american artists.  all set up to show how these influential artists learned from each other).

Jessica:

I forgot to mention the chime tower is know by many as the engagement tower (obvious reasons), i used to tell my daughter it was Repunzel's castle.  It's fun in the winter with the lower pond turned into an ice rink.  Yes the course is offered in the Spring.

Hi Karen:

When you are out in the middle of nowhere, visitors are always welcomed.

Maryvonne:

I agree 2 gardens are more than enough for me, fortunately we are in the process of selling our PA place.  Hopefully someone will buy it soon!
I have a feeling your garden still looks wonderful.  Say hi to Peter.

all the best,

Gary
