Pond Chat / pond plants and winter

last year we cut our pond plants off short and sunk them in deep part of pond ,some of them weren't happy with that . plants are [we think] a zebra rush , a spider plant [has leaves kind of like an iris but shorter and thicker] , a plant that grows about 14'' tall and has very airy ball shaped growth on top of the stems , a couple others that defy description . we are zone five , any thoughts appreciated . by the way we have an excess of pale orange colored water canna which we wouldn't mind sharing of there is any interest , if not it will be recycled . i may be to lazy to separate it but lets see what transpires . . . .peace

just saw something out of corner of my eye and when i turned it was a big bird . it circled and flew past again and it was the osprey carrying a fish . it often shows up in the spring and fall but never stays long . . . .peace

bought an electric lawn edger and a 100 foot lead cord but bought a heavy lead cord , i think 14 gauge . it was about $50 but alleviated any potential electrical problems .

sir , i am very happy that you and your dog are back together . that being said , i'm extremely stressed emotionally about what my final days are going to be like [don't jump to conclusions] and have had more and more trouble believing in religion last few years . your bible class praying about your dog really distresses  me . it bothers me to pray for an individual because there are huge numbers of people starving , being bombed by bushes troops , suffering from floods , etc. i just don't know how one singles out an individual person or personal event to pray for without feeling dirty about it .

how does one now what size container to plant water lilys in because i'm thinking ours might be to small . also wondered if they should be in clay ,ours are, or the gravelly like stuff sold as aquatic planting 'soil' . our water lilys put up a circle of leaves that encompassed an area maybe 3 feet in diameter also some nice flowers but not a large number of them . leaves also seemed to yellow quickly . our water quality seems to be fine according to tests although ph is always around 8.2 . thanks......peace ....by the way , i'm sure different lilys have slightly different requirements .

interesting, but i've never hit a snooze button , don't own a cell phone , almost NEVER answer the telephone , agree some bicyclists are a problem . about the obituaries , after reading them on any given day you will find only perfect people die . i've never seen one that said this person was a drunk that cheated on his/her spouse , beat their kids , and stole from the place they worked . when i die i want no obituary or funeral . i just want to donate whatever organs are usable and burn what's left and put ashes in the dumpster . you're in luck as my finger is tiring or i'd tell you what i really think .......peace
