sometimes it is difficult to fit it all in but we manage I do my pond maiintainance work when they are all in nursery that gives me a crazy two hours of free time 3 times a week  to purge filters to waste and do my weekly water changes  roll on Septemeber I will have every afternoon free......ooh what will I do......................................................celebrate @O@

I would try and get a soil analysis done some soils just arnt suitable enough to sustain koi too acidic we have a huge pond near home bought by a keen angler to stock up and use as a fishing lake no matter what he does the soil is very peaty and acidic and fish just dont survive in it.......just a thought before you go ahead

you all seem lovely people thanks for the replies my hubby built the whole lot himself (ex builder) the only thing he never did was the fibreglassing I wouldnt let him just in case it went wrong at a critical stage of the project I will try and put a link up to a gallery of the build from the start to almost finishished it took us a year to complete but we do have a thirteen year old.... 5 year old twins and 3 year old triplets to take a lot of our time up :)

these are the parents of my fry I am currently raising  well I know the female maruten kohaku spawned but I am hoping this tancho sanke male beat the other guys to spawn with her they are obviously in love as I caught this picture of them sharing some affection  :hug:

thanks everyone certainly beats most things having an inside pond  herons frogs leaves and debris and I can enjoy it all year round I heat the room rather than the pond and keep the ambiant temperature slightly higher than the water which stops getting any condensation I manage to keep the water a steady 22 degrees which means I can feed all year round too.....

Hi folks
heard about this forum through another member so thought i would give it a whirl and say hello.. I am from England have kept fish and koi for many years too many to remember unfortunately.... currently have a 4762 thousand gallon inside koi pond with 12 fish and thousand gallon fry room where I am currently raising some 8 week old fry
