Lemme tell you about bull frogs. first of all, i love frogs, all kinds. however i had one  dude that would eat my goldies and i saw him with a large snake in his mouth. i saw him with a 5 ot 6 inch goldie with just the tail sticking out of his mouth. anything that they could put into their jaws is fair game.
well i took this guy for a ride to a swamp about a half mile away and in a few days, he was back. i then took him to a pond a few miles away and have not seen him since. here is his mug shot.

I must warn you, there are some very disturbing photos in this Power-point Slide show. you must have Microsoft Power-point on your pc, otherwise you will not be able to view it. Most if not all of these photos are no longer shown to the public, they were withdrawn almost immediately.

Once it launches, you must use your left button on your mouse to proceed to the next photos.

If you find them disturbing, I will remove them immediately.

We must not forget this tragedy, it seems that we all are getting complacent again.

Hi Louis:

Beautiful photos, I'm curious about White Delight, what is the spread and leaf size as well as coloration?  It appears to be green, but photos can lie when one has multiple lilies around!

Gary

hi gary, no there is no green in the white delight bloom. it looks clear white here, might be your monitor off a tad bit. if anything, the early flowers, first day have a creamy white as opposed to a pure white.  a couple of years ago, i went down to visit my friends at waterford gardens in joisey and asked john for the largest white there is and he gave me white delight. it was not until i spoke to one of our knowledgeable people did i realize that is was one of charles winches creations.

the plant can be huge. i have mine in a 16 inch, bushel size container and its in a pond all of its own. the pads can be as long as 2 feet and the blooms are very large also, about 8 inches

Hi Louis~~~~~Whight Delight is a real Delight!  The unamed pink, is that one of your hybrids?   It reminds me of a Sorbet or a popsicle.   Something fragile that melts.

Tammi

hello tammi, yes the pink is one of my hybrids from this year. its a pretty plant, although large

They look great Louis. I wish I had a place to grow out more seedlings. I think I like growing seedlings better than I like growing something that I know what its going to look like. I love the surprise of the first blooms.

hi gary, i agree. its like opening gifts at Christmas.

Pond Chat / Re: Yikes!!!! A deer in my pond. Update....sad ending.
« on: August 21, 2006, 06:54:38 PM »
Back a few years ago, one winter day, i was flying the company helicopter to Havestraw, NY when i spotted a pack of dogs, not strays, but household dogs, chasing a deer out onto the Katona reservoir. the deer could not stand on the ice and went spread eagle and the dogs killed it for sport not food. that was very upsetting. deer do not have a chance on ice.

Hi, it looks like the short season is coming to an unwelcome end. nights are getting cooler and the pond water is cooling down.

Here are two from today, first is N. White Delight a Charles Winch creation and the second one is one of my new hybrids from this year. its a peach/pink, depending on the accuracy of your monitor. it leans more to the light peach. this plant came from a cross between Golden West and Moonbeam, West being the pod parent.

i would be there in a heart beat if i did not have to fly over. i panic on somebody else's airplane. how long does it take by boat. i could take the train from conn to calif and take a boat. that should take all of two weeks.

first of all, love your pond. does it have a liner or is it mud bottom, their hooves are sharp and will pierce a liner.

secondly she does look sad.
