I heard the Dali museum just reopened. It was great when I saw it about 5 years ago, but is apparently even better now! I once went down to a nursery called Tropiflora in the Sarasota area for a big plant sale and ended up meeting Joyce there. You probably have similar nurseries in CA, so it's probably not such a big deal. I think we always went to Clearwater beaches. The best central Florida watergarden I have visited was Kit and Ben's place over on Cocoa Beach during one of their "open garden" days. You could possibly venture out to meet Craig, I think he's due east of Bradenton. I'm not sure though, never been there. Bet it's amazing!
Hi Maryvonne, I'm sorry we got so close to you, Krista, and Sean and didn't connect! My conference kept me very busy and we only had public transportation. The pacific northwest is so beautiful that I imagine we will return before long!
Thanks all for the kind words--glad you enjoy the photos!
Definitely drive over the Skyway bridge and go to the Salvador Dali museum. I also like the aquarium in the channelside area of Tampa. The gulf beaches are nice...let me remember which ones are the best!
We recently took a long trip to Seattle, Vancouver, and Victoria. Thankfully, our pond survived the intense temperatures while away. Here is a short blog post about two unusual blooms in the pond.
Our 10-day forecast includes daily highs above 100 each day. Our highest this month was 105. The sad part is our typical rainfall is about 2 1/2" in July and so far we only have 0.08".
Looking forward to cooling off in the Pacific Northwest for the next few weeks! Their daytime highs are like 15 degrees BELOW our night time LOWS. Brrr!
The blooms I used for this arrangement were close to the end of thei blooming cycle. Since I was deadheading, I decided to get these at the same time. The bouquet lasted about 2 days due to the age of the flowers. They could certainly last longer if cut earlier.
