Chit Chat / Re: Hair Color
« on: November 07, 2006, 07:53:56 PM »
Well, I started turning grey at the age of 16, 44 now.  I didn't start dying it until around 35, and don't do it as often as I should.  I do it myself, can't afford to pay to have it done (though I wish I could).  I change the color a little every once in a while, but I like my dark auburn.  This time I tried intense auburn (salsa red), it's pretty bright, but it's growing on me.  I'll probably quit one day, but not till I'm old...LOL

Teresa and Lawanna,

You two are so right, there are so many kind people on here!!!

Can't wait for my new growing season, although not sure how long it will be.  Ready to find out  :)

As far as the lotus go, I'm pretty sure they are dormant.  This is my first year with any and I had bought four on here in the big plant deal we all got.  Two died and these two got lots of leaves, but never any flowers  :(  :'(  I want flowers!!!  I dumped them out of their totes the other day too and rinsed off, there were massive amounts of roots/tubers?? all around the bottom of the tote.  Wasn't sure what to do, so I put them back in totes in water (a few inches and broght in house).  So, I should divide now (and hope I know what I'm doing) and wrap up and repot when I get there??  Sounds like a plan, just hope it works.  Cross your fingers for me.  Thanks again you two!

Thanks for the replys @O@

Lawanna,  That's what I was planning on doing but I wasn't sure.  I don't think you said anything about lotus - will that work for them too?  So, that's what I will do!  Thanks

Tinkster (Joy),  Good to hear from you too!  I've been great, sorry haven't been around.  Just been busy, you know how that is...  Sure the move will go fine, can't wait.  Not sure if can pond quite all season, but sure will be longer then here in cold South Dakota :)  And if my plans survive I would be happy share with you!!  Take Care

Thanks Lilith,  I never thought about mailing them, but think I will take my chances and take them with me.  Fiances' dad is a truck driver and said with a 17' truck wouldnt have to worry about stopping at and getting checked.  But thanks again for the idea.

Scott,  We are moving to Bay Minette, near Mobile.  Not sure when they will start growing there either, but will either go ahead and repot and put in pool or keep stored in cool damp place.  Thanks and we will kind of be neighbors, lol!

Thanks again all.

Will let u all know when I get there and what shape the plants and fish are in.

Pond Chat / moving across country...need plant help
« on: November 06, 2006, 06:44:34 PM »
Hi all, Tinkster, etc.

Havent been on here much the last few months.  Sold my house beginning of August, finally have enough money to move to AL from SD.  Moving this coming Sunday.  Can't wait!  Anyway, here's my questions, have had plants and fish in kiddie pools since August, took the plants out the other day (lillies in the pools and lotus in two big totes) rinsed them off and am soaking them in totes of water.  What should I do to move them.  Will be taking us three days to get there and they have been in water since Saturday.  I don't want them to die, but not sure how to transport them???? Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks all in advance.

Once get moved will probably be a while before get a pond again, so fish and plants will be back in kiddie pools, any suggestions there?

Moving to somewhere warmer will be great, but worried about my plants and my fish.

Kristin,

Like everyone else said, you did a spectacular job!!!!  I don't think I could do half of that by myself...

It turned out lovely and I'm sure you will enjoy it for a long long time.  Guess the neighbors will just have to build their own now... :)

Your dog and cat are sure cute too!

Take care.

Growing up, I despised country music.  But today, that's pretty much all I listen too.  I like the new stuff the best, but some older stuff is good too!  Kenney Chesney could put his boots under my bed anyday!  ;)

Chit Chat / Re: Any Solitaire Addicts Out There?
« on: August 14, 2006, 07:39:45 PM »
I've always liked solitaire!  I'm a member of pogo.com and play world class solitaire, aces up, etc.  Also play spades, canasta, jungle gin and many more to mention.  But those are my favorite.  I met my fiance online almost 7 years ago on the zone playing spades, he moved here (SD) from AL and we are moving back there in a couple months...We both have tatoos on our upper arms of a purple spade with each others names in them.  Anyone else a member of pogo or play there as a guest, if so, let me know, would love to play some games with some great ponding people!
