Craig, is that your horse?  She is soooo cute, and smart, I might add.

I can see a horse managing to go up eight steps, but going down just has to be a lot harder and more dangerous.   Maybe you should build her a ramp.   {:-P;;

Chit Chat / Re: Lower Back Pain Recommendations?
« on: April 14, 2007, 10:49:18 PM »
Thanks Sheila (and Sean).  An endorsement from someone who actually has narrow feet is worth a lot more to me than any of the advertising the company might do.  I went to the Crocs website and I think I'll try the Cayman style which is listed as "a sleek and slender version of the beach." I think the light blue one is pretty.   :2thumbs:

I expected these shoes to be really expensive.  They're not much at all compared to what I usually have to pay to get narrow or slim shoes.

Mikey,

I don't have any tips other than the ones you've already been given, but I hope your back feels better soon.   :)

Hey guys and gals, about those Crocs shoes...do they make them in narrow?  The ones I've seen all look fairly wide, and I'm not sure if I could wear them.  Oh, heck, I guess I could just look them up.   :doh:

Bonnie, prayers for your Mom are being sent from here.   :hug:

Hopefully, it's just scar tissure or nerve damage from the previous surgery.

Hi, Karen...long time no see.  Of course Shawshank Redemption is a good movie.  It was written by my favorite author, Stephen King.  And the movie does do justice to the book.  O0

How old is your Matthew now?  I remember when he was just a little guy learning to walk.   :thinking:

I agree that DVR helps you watch more quality time, but not necessarily more TV.  I watch it for two or three hours each night with DH, but I only watch what I want...not just what happens to be on at the time.

It snowed in SE KS today, and just a few days ago it was 78*.   >:(-

My lilacs and tulips are blooming.  It's supposed to be 29 degrees tonight.  I hope it doesn't hurt any of the plants.  I don't have any annuals out yet, but I sure am glad I brought the tadpole's little bucket in off the deck.   ;)

We have DVR with our Dish Satellite, and I love it!   @O@

I just set it to record all episodes of the shows we want to watch, and then we can watch them whenever we feel like it.  It's so darn handy, I don't know how we ever got along without it.  I'm used to fast forwarding through the commercials, and get really irritated if I have to watch a show live and sit through the commercials.   ::)

I also love being able to pause a show or back it up when I want to.  We have a two room setup so the grandkids can watch cartoons downstairs while we're watching something else in the living room.

« on: April 03, 2007, 10:22:05 PM »
I like the plant fundraisers, too.  My grandson's school was selling bulbs last fall, so I ordered three types of tulips (5 bulbs in each set).  I put them in last fall and now have 15 tulips blooming in front of my house.  @O@

Hi Jessica!  Yes, the grandkids are growing.  Braden is now 8 and Miss Kylie will be 4 in June.  They are both a lot of fun to have around.  They moved back from Arizona in May of last year and now live in Olathe.   @O@

I guess since you are a Florida alumni, it would be only proper for you to cheer for the Gators.   :)

I think both pond shops are out of business now. I guess there wasn't enough business in our little town to keep them going.  :(

I don't know the answer, John, but I wish it had never happened.  Thank goodness my cat and two dogs eat foods that haven't appeared on the lists yet.  However, I check every day to see if they have been recalled.  :(

I do think it's scary that one company can be connected to 80-90 different kinds of dog and cat food.   :o

I would suggest not looking at the toilets cross-eyed  :D

JK!!!!  {:-P;;

Actually, I'm sorry you had plumbing problems, Sheila.   :(  I thought our sump pump had failed because we had a small puddle in the basement last weekend.  It turned out to just be in one spot on one wall that seems to have a crack or leak behind the built-in cabinet.  Fixing it will entail digging a LARGE hole outside and waterproofing that part of the basement wall again.  I'm not ready to tackle that problem right now and just hope it doesn't ruin the flooring in the basement.   :-\

I haven't checked our pollen count here. I wonder if that's why I've had so much trouble breathing at night lately???  I've had the bedroom window open to get some fresh air since it warmed up a bit.

I'm sorry yours is so high, Teresa.  It's awful when you feel like you need to wear a pollen mask in order to be outside.   :(

Thanks, gals!  :)

I don't post a lot because the DH thinks I'm probably talking to a "boyfriend"  :o   >:(-  when I'm chatting online, so I tend to just read a lot.  Will try to sneak in a few posts occasionally.  {:-P;;

Hi, Gloria/April!  I remember you. Welcome back!   :)

Hi LeeAnne and Teresa!   o(:-)

LeeAnne, La Niña is happy, healthy, and huge!  ;D  She did weigh 108 lbs., but I've had her on a weight-loss food and she is down to 101 lbs. now...probably a healthier weight for her.  She still sometimes likes to plop her upper half on me when I'm sitting on the couch...OUCH!  I didn't mean to ignore your emails and hope you didn't take that as a slight.  I've just been very busy and a little down in the dumps for a while.  My DH has senile dementia which just gets progressively worse, and it takes up a lot of my time to try to take care of him and keep him in a reasonably happy/civil mood.  I've been reading more than chatting for the last six months or more.

Teresa, things are about the same.  My youngest daughter,"My Darling Baby Boy" (who's now 8  ;D ) and his ornery, adorable, sweet Baby Sis (who's now 3 and just a blast to be around   @O@ ) were here for the last week, so I'm in a better mood than usual.  DH seems to be more lucid and a little less argumentative when there are other people around.

Well, now that I've told the whole world my family secrets, I just want you all to know I'm just trying to explain my lack of communication.  I could probably be described as a "reserved"  and reasonably quiet type of person, so if I don't have anything halfway cheerful to say, I don't talk much.  I will try to speak up a little more from now on.  Since Spring is officially here, I hope I can get outside and do a bit of ponding and gardening soon.  o(

I'm back...maybe lurking more than chatting, but at least I'm here.   :)  I registered on American Ponders once before, but apparently that was lost when the forum was hacked.

I'm glad to see a lot of familiar faces. I've missed you guys & gals.   o(:-) Is anyone else as ready for Spring as I am?
