I don't know how they'll do with our weather conditions.  Everyone on this forum has been super helpful.  This is my first time growing lotus and I sure hope they do well.  As of now, they seem to be doing well.  The lotus are popping up out of the water.  We'll see in about 2 months how they do.  I'm trying to grow Chawan Basu, Mrs. Perry Slocum and an unkown variety.  We'll keep in touch.  I'll make a wish list.  Looks like you have many plants I could wish for.

I am near Phoenix.  I have yet to find a group.  Maybe I need to look harder.  I'll keep you posted.  Next year I should have some lotus tubers, if you're interested.

Esther- That is so true.  However, snow and I do not get along.  I live in desert temps.  It's all lovely right now, but in a month I'll be wishing for snow.  120 degrees is nothing to be proud of.    

Trying to figure out how I can get the 125 gallon tank in my living room..and there is no room!!!

Dig a hole.  That always solves that problem.     You can cover it up with a sofa or something.

I wish I could get someone to take care of the inside of my house, as well.  I've been on a week long vacation and I haven't done anything inside.  I've been outdoors taking care of my backyard.     Tomorrow is already Friday and I haven't even showered.    Just kidding.

I day dream as well. 

Today I went to a local home improvement store and they had water plants.  I was surprised.  There have been posts, a few weeks ago, about this.  I purchased some water lettuce and iris.  This hobby is very fun and addictive.

It's difficult to transition from Marine to gardener.  There's a huge difference.  I'll get better and learn many things from everyone.

I'm in Buckeye.  It's hard to find anyone nearby.  I know there are people with ponds around here, but it's hard to get a hold of them.  As far as trades, I have lots of hardy water lilies.  If you're interested, please let me know.  I'm sure you have plenty already.

You guys are funny.  Mikey, He's only 15 months.   Ky Kim, I have 1yr this April with my pond.  I'm not complaining or anything.  I just wonder what you all do to pass time.  Lawanna, that's alot of work.  I guess I can start digging to catch up.

I really don't.  How do you all wait sooo long for everything to take course in this ponding business?  I can't wait till my algae disapears, I can't wait till my lilies bloom, I can't wait till my lotus bloom, I can't wait till my son moves out.....wait a minute, that's not part of ponding.  It's hard.  I'm soooo anxious.

I'll wait about 3 days or so to try the second treatment.  After the first, my water is cloudy.  I should see some of the dead algae soon, right?

I did it.  I used Tetrapond product.  It's been in my cupboard for quite a time now.  I was hesitant to use chemicals, but I'm up to my eyes in string algae.  Is it normal for the water to get cloudy with the chemical?  How long does it take to work?

How did you get rid of it?  I clean mine out and it returns in two days.  I tried the peroxide method and nothing.  What's you secret?

You should see Buckeye now.  Goodyear, Avondale, and Glendale have really taken off.  I've met some really nice people on this forum.  I haven't traded anything, yet.  I don't have much to trade at this point.  I have bought some lotus from some helpful folks.
