OMG, I had no idea the wardrobe and travel situation would be that bad!   >:(-  Five hours of sleep in between traveling/working would NOT be a good idea.

I concede, you DEFINITELY made the right decision.   ;)  Mi culpa.    :-\

Ruthie, you're a good person!!!   @O@

I don't mind the possums around here, as they help to clean up rotten pears and apples when they fall off the tree.  It's just that much less mess on the ground.  I have to work to keep the dogs (and hubby) from harming them or running them off, tho.  The only problem I've ever seen with possums is that they eat any cat food left outside...and actually I don't mind that either.   ;)

Bless you for taking in those two poor little kittens and getting them cleaned up, too!  I love little Pierre's 1/2 of a mustache.   o(:-)

HI, MARILYN!!!!  I haven't seen you in, like, forever.  I hope you are well and enjoying life.   o(:-)

It looks like one of the Sphinx Moths or Hawkmoths.  It's hard to identify it without it's wings being spread out completely.  They ARE big.  I wish you had a picture of it with its wings out.

But...but...but, you would have 11 hours to sleep during the day.  {:-P;;  Hee, Hee, I guess you're just not a night person.   ;)

I agree that the pay isn't too great, but I don't know how you could pass up being in "Angels & Demons."  :-\  If the movie is half as good as the book, that is.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make you feel bad about your decision not to take the job.  YOU are the "actor person," and it's YOUR decision to make.  Apparently, it was the right one for you. O0  I'm the type of person who could have/should have worked nights all my life.  Since I've retired, I'm usually up until 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. (intentionally).  Therefore, the schedule doesn't sound too horrible to me.   :D ;D  Now, if you told me I'd have to get up at 3:00 a.m. in order to work from 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., I'd say NO WAY!!!   >:(-

I thought their prices were very good, too, Julles.  I was objecting to the almost $12.00 shipping on a $10.00 order.  :(

Isn't it amazing how all that tail just disappears into the frog.  O0 I raised a little chorus frog in the house from tiny tadpole to full sized (and legged) frog, and it was a fun experience. I even named him "Bob."   ;D I let him loose into my pond, and I think he is still there.   @O@

Oh, yes, they do have other things to worry about.  He'll potty train himself soon enough.  I'm sure he'll be all right in that regard.    O0
He looks good, Esther!   o(:-) o(:-) o(:-)

I'm so glad he's tolerating his treatments well.  Tell them CONGRATULATIONS! from me on the new arrival.

That's a truly beautiful lily, Louis!   o(:-) Please share more pics of your lilies as they start to bloom.   @O@

Will the muskrats cause any damage to your ponds, since you don't have goldfish in there anymore?

Oh, how cute!  Babies bare bottoms would be worth taking pictures of.   lol  o(:-)

I have a Skippy and never have green water.  I do have trouble clearing up the tannin after the leaves have fallen in it all winter.  I guess I really should get another net and try to keep that from happening this year.   {:-P;;

Jessica, that sounds like it will be a wonderful vacation!   @O@  I'll bet those boys are just going to have a blast.   :)

Too funny!  lol lol

Mikey, since the crowd got out of hand this year, do you think they will try to put a stop to the mooning next year?

Oh My Gosh...what a lot of puppies!!!   @O@
They're adorable, Kim.   o(:-)

I agree that the rock fountain is wickedly cool!!!   @O@ @O@ @O@

Did you really drill a hole through that big rock?  Did someone else do it for you?  Please tell me how you made your wonderful rock fountain.   :)

Sorry about the boo-boo. :( Keep it cleaned and keep using the Neosporin.

EWWWWW....YUCK!!!

I hate leeches!!!    >:(- >:(- >:(-

P.S. I'm glad they weren't the bloodsucking kind, tho.  ;) Did they leave marks where they were attached to you, or was it just a suction-type thing?  I didn't even know there was a leech that wasn't a blood-sucker.

Wow, I would think such a small dog wouldn't have a very big litter. Get of a pic of all of them when she is finished, OK.   ;)

How cute!  You need to take your camera out and see if you can get a picture of her.   o(:-)

Just don't try to pick her up.  My sister tried to pick up an adorable little field mouse many, many years ago. Sadly, she was bitten for her trouble.   :(  :P

Chit Chat / Re: Do you have an opinion on chainsaws?
« on: July 12, 2008, 08:31:33 PM »
I just wanted to chime in here and say my DH used to love his Stihl chainsaw that he has.  He doesn't know how to use it now, so a friend and our grandson cut off the last broken branch we had.  I need to ask them to cut another branch on that tree (or the whole tree), because it's mostly dead.   :-\

Anyway, he had an Echo before he got the Stihl, and it was a good little chain saw.  He got the Stihl because it was bigger and also a workhorse.   O0

I agree, you do have a mess there.  I'm just thankful that you didn't lose any trees or your roof!   :o  Those 85 mph winds can be scary.   :(

Sue, we've been getting 1-3" of rain a week for a few months now...enough to drown the tomato plants.   :'(  It's been a strange year...thunderstorms every week.  I'm glad you finally got some of it.   O0

The other lilies are pretty, too.  @O@

« on: July 08, 2008, 12:48:54 PM »
I'm so sorry, LeeAnne.   :( That must be extremely frustrating.   >:(-

Do the Scarecrow (Heronizer?) water sprayers work on raccoons, or do they just enjoy the bath?  I know you have (or had) a fido fence on your back pond...maybe you could just enclose your whole yard with an electric fence.   {:-P;;

Very, very pretty pictures, Carlos!  O0

« on: July 07, 2008, 08:29:20 PM »
Oh, the poor little things.  Not that I want a skunk under my porch or as a pet, but that first picture is so sad.  :'(

I think it was an owl or hawk that accidently dropped them.  Surely no one would climb up to the peak of your two-story house to put one up there (although someone could sling a dead skunk onto the shed).  What a mystery.
