Looks like they enjoy their "beach".

I had it horribly bad this year too. Then the fish dug up a newly potted plant & the fert. caused the water to go kinda green. I didn't use the uv this year & I guess the green water killed the string algae off.

When I dug the hole for the half barrel I just threw the dirt into the barrel. We have clay dirt. Then I just stuck the seeds which had sprouted in the house into the dirt a little. I also stuck some citrus tree spike pieces into the dirt.

Guess I should repot mine back up. LOL
It's still floating in the shallows from when the koi dug it up.
It's doing good ... getting new growth & such, no blooms though.

I used a broken up stick of citrus tree fertilizer ... wonder if that made a difference or if it's just its year to look good. LOL

Yea, I should have put it in the bathtub with the lilies, hawthorne & mosquito fish.
These are the koi with a couple wakin.
They seem to only really mess with new plants ... or small ones.

The water is all muddy looking. We had a pretty good storm so thought maybe that was it but I couldn't figure out how.
Then I see the floating heart I received & potted up a few days ago floating ... I knew then it was the fish. They had found it & dug it up.
I was really hoping they would leave it alone or at least not find it, no such luck.

Yes, there were rocks on top. Little brats, LOL.

1. Is Johns Angel Trumpet Burgmensia.
2. Is Beaumontia.  it took 20 years to bloom.  This is normal according to the ex member Derrick in Hong Kong.

Johns was not kidding when he said that "Inca Gold" will give you plenty of blooms!"

I totally love the skull.  O0
