thanks all of ya...i know i have to get rid of half the fish thats in there    :( but i have too i have 3 pumps with uv's and washable air condition filter in each, one day it will be clear then the next dirty...i feed light now but i don't want them to starve they seem hungry all the time.....

hi all can someone please post homemade diy for a large biofilter i need a good size one....1300 gph pond and alot of fish...last year i couldn't get it clear...stays green

go o n ebay and type in bio-filters...a huge range and prices....i have  a large pump.....actually i have 3 water pumps going and 2 biofilters...i use washable a/c filters from walmart.....i have koi and goldfish and they play and play ......alot of o2.....the biofilter doesn't have to be huge or expensive...,.,,lorraine

oh i'm so so sorry i am praying rfor them....my father in law is in a coma also,he was in the hospital waiting to go to rehab alert talking AND that night they let him fall out of bed (80 y/o ) and they  gave him an ambien and didin/t put side rails up and he fell....now he is in icu and prognosis is very very grim....he had blood under the skull and pressure on the brain.....lorraine

i keep them in the pond all year so i have a bunch of little ones but i have to look closer to make sure they are gonna perk up as it gets warmer...will let u know...lorraine

i put stuff away to find it 1 yr later ...lol i bought bangkok some lotus seeds...pink plena....i just refound them....i have 10..they came with a phytosanitary certificate from dept. of agriculture (??????)  and instructions on how to plant....i looked them up and they are quite beautiful...it says to talk to them that the carbon dioxide in your breath aides in their metabolism....it says i can start them now but keep them warm and kozy...to start them in a 2 litre coke bottle....any suggestions or opinions????

no i put about 2 cups depending on the size of your pond.mine is 1100 gallons..i put it in a bucket and add the pond water (not tap) mix it up then pour it in the pond...whatever is circulating it will go through..i have never had string algae and i live in louisiana...i put it in once a week...i also every now and then put my koi food in the  clay watered bucket to soak a few minutes then give to the fish,it helps they're digestive system... :)

i use washable air condition filter at walmart or home depot.....its 3.77 a large sheet at walmart and 5 something at home depot....it holds the pond about 4 to 7 days depending how merky the water is..it does keep the water clear....i also use clay every 4 to 5 days in the water....

i have felt fear plenty of times...my fish nibble on my ankles and swim around my feet so that freaks me out ...i think that since the water is merky it gives you the creeps anyway when u get in.... lol
