Thanks guys,

I told her I didn't think the salt was the right thing to use. Glad I was right, just double checking.

Good afternoon all,

I'm not sure if this is in the right place or not, but I think it is.

Just a question~ I have a friend who is getting som water plants from someone she knows that has a pond. When I get new plants I always dip them in a light solution of PP, she uses mild salt. I've never heard of using salt just PP or bleach. Ha anyone ever heard of this and would this kill of any parasites?  :-\

TIA,
Blondie

Well they are beautiful and so big! I think I have mine too deep maybe between 6" and 12". I'm going to move it as soon as all the little tadpoles move out. I can't move anything without squishing one of them. :o I've been getting them out when they start sitting on the big rocks. Seems like everyday there are more frog and frog eggs. Don't they ever get tired!  lol

How cute!  ;D

I just netted a bunch of taddy's that were mostly on the pots in the pond (ready for dry land), I put them in a flower pot in the garden. I'd noticed the bullfrog was skimming the side a lot instead of just sitting on the lily pads, he was eating the baby tads! We have caught and removed seven huge bullfrogs so far this year and taken them to the lake, this one got to stay because he was little. DH says to me "he won't stay little", he was right he's not little anymore. More of  'em just keep coming. I love my frogs and toads, we didn't hardly have any last year because I had let the bullfrogs stay.

But, found more frogs and toads in the pond Sat. morning and am seeing baby tads now. They sure can clean algae from the pond! @O@

Help me figure out what to do. I have a neighbor's dog that wants to come swim in my pond. Tearing my plants up and out.  I am about ready to shoot it! I thought about putting a smaller electric fence around the edge of the pond but just really don't know what to do.  HELPPPP

My DH put up a shock wire to keep out larger dogs (golden & lab) from digging under the fence. It only took one time and they stayed away. The wire has been off for years and the dogs still won't go near that wire.  lol

Do an internet search, he used pvc, wire and a battery. We already had the pvc and the wire so all it cost was the battery. BTW the wire was just a slight shock. I know I forgot about it when we first put it up and got plenty of shocks.  :o

Frogs are cool, aren't they!

We keep getting Bullfrogs. So far, in the last month we have carried seven big one back to the lake. I only let the small ones stay. I found some bird bones on the plant shelf in the pond!  :suspect: I'm pretty sure it was one of the large bullfrogs, so off they went.

I've got lots of tree frogs and some little toad that I can't figure out what kind it is. Of course, with all them comes the tadpoles and there's lots of them!
