Aquatic and Terrestrial Plant Exchange / Re: Plantless Pond in Need

I was told by the pond people "Oak Park WaterGardens" to add pond salt if I'm going to have fish.  So I did.  He said it shouldn't hurt the plants.  Right now there are none.  Also KatFish, I work at MCO now UTMC we'll have to get lunch some time and talk about pond stuff.  I'm down in your area almost every day.

I'm in Toledo, Ohio.  I'll have to see how far I am from you and find time to drive up there.  I have two ponds with nothing in both of them and I'm working on plants and fish but on a budget.  I'll keep in touch and maybe this weekend have time to drive.
Thank You

Aquatic and Terrestrial Plant Exchange / Plantless Pond in Need
« on: June 04, 2008, 09:47:14 AM »

I'm new to this pond thing.  I bought a house in Toledo, Ohio and pulled out a huge bush in the front yard and decided to make a pond in that area.  It turned out great but I have no plants in it.  I have no idea where to buy and what lives in this area.  I also just dug another pond in the back yard but it is 2 preformed liners.  The front yard pond is clean and clear but the back is green.  I have added pumps w/ fountains, pond salt and pond bacteria to both ponds.  The front is in shade and the back is full sun till after 3pm.  But I know I need plants to keep it clean and healthy for fish.  I'm looking for cheap or free starter plants for my pond.  I'm on a budget and won't have any extra money for about 2 weeks.  Thank you in advance for any help.
