Filming at Fujiyama
« on: March 08, 2010, 04:54:02 AM »
OK
The garden has just been commissioned as the setting for two scenes of a new short film called 'Yuki'
The film is about a young Japanese girl who comes over from Japan with her parents to live in Northern Ireland
Two of the early scenes are in Japan and our garden has been selected for the filming of those scenes
We have already met with the producer and director and two of the film crew, one of whom worked with Dame Helen Mirren in 'Queen', so they know what they are about.  One of their recent films was featured at the last Queen's Film Festival in Belfast
Filming dates still to be finalised but expected after May
I may be able to add a shortened version to my website at a later date :)
Will keep you advised

WOW!!!  How did that happen?  Were they in the area scouting, or ???  Sounds like a good story.

Congratulations, your beautiful garden will be perfect.  Should be very interesting for you.  Hope the film crew treats your garden with respect.

I think the producer was searching for a suitable location on the internet and typed in 'Japanese Northern Ireland' or some such and found me :)
Apparently there will be about 15 of them at the beginning of July for a one day shoot
If they make a mess they will be clearing it up :)
