What kind of snails do you want? Trapdoors are usually sold in the spring. Anyone who has aquariums or ponds would more than likely give them away. They are considered pests. I bought aquarium plants from Petsmart and trumpet snails came in on the plants..not happy about that. Contact your local aquarium forum. I'm sure people will be glad to give them to you. If you want apple snails, petsmart, aquabid, those kinds of places have them. Aquaria central people have them for sale all the time in their classifieds.

afishpond,

I ordered my trapdoor snails from www.tricker.com

The trap door sanils are about the size of a quarter in diameter, and they do their share in nibbling on the algae. They also assist in creating a natural balance in your pond by scavaging for uneaten fish food. One of the nice things about the trap door snails is they do not eat your aquatic plants, and are non-destructive. Given the right water conditions in the spring they have live baby snails, and they don't over populate.

I have had trap door snails for many years now and they are a good addition to any pond.

Happy ponding, o(

Well, if my ramshorns would multiply, then I would be glad to share but I didn't know until the first warm day that any of them came with me. These were the biggest that I'd ever seen. Got plenty of pond snails. ::)
Happy ponding,
