Jerry I have found a small water turtle about the size of a 50 cent piece in one of my small above ground ponds. Can you answer some questions for me? I have no clue how it got there, I assume out of some plants I got from a plant swap. I have never had one before. It is a slider. What do I have to do to take care of it? I guess I need to have a board for it to climb out of the water on. It is so tiny something could eat it. And maybe I can keep it this summer untill it gets bigger to let go to survive the winter. What do I feed it. Or will it catch tiny fish I have in the pond. He hides well.  Any ideas?

I know it happens in places where there are lakes, streams etc.  In fact, I hear it often.
Make a post calling Turtle Mike's attention to this.  He will know.

I did see a photo of a baby that was only a skeleton after being in a pond with the big boys.
