Whoop-de-doo Blue!
« on: July 13, 2010, 03:57:58 PM »
This is my first blue of the year!   @O@  As you can see it grew right up through the netting  :o ....that's how I solve the low netting problem  :P  This was a totally unexpected flower as the weather has been at best cold and dreary here.  Other hardy lilies shot up flowers that hardly opened before sinking  :'(

This blue is always a good producer for me.  Oh well, just had to say.... :)

Plus the second photo is a plastic barrel of feeder breeder fish with anarchist blooming away beneath the chicken wire.

Thank you Ladies!  I started out with all blues/purples in my garden and the ponds but drifted with other colors of a plant I like.  This was the surprise I needed after working really hard last week  ::)

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

Thank you!  That determined flower was able to grow through the net.  Seems this particular lily (the tag is at the bottom of the pond with all the others  :P ) grows tall while it's building the bud.  Once it gets through the net it pretty much gets fatter and ready to open.

This lily I've had for at least 3 years is from Kat's collection!  Thank you again, Kat!

I love the blue.  One of these days I'm going to have to give tropicals a try.

Very nice lily miguynmkoi, perfect colour.
Since some weeks first time I try to start some blue for me but the tubers are cooking in the water. Let's see what will happen.

Yes, I did start using it since yesterday and this time water was too cool. So it means I have to put on and off each day with some intervals. Will be like baby sitting:))

Tugo, sounds like the weather in your area is quite unpredictable.  I have a large umbrella over part of my koi pond that stays down in the winter and up during the warmer months....also helps to slow down evaporation of the water too I think.

So sorry to hear of the loss of so many fish in your pond.  :'(

Thank you Tootsie!

I have been watching this little bloom everyday and when it opens in the morning I think of its center as an egg yolk for breakfast  :D  I can see the petal color from my kitchen where I slave away  :D  I think of all my lilies this is the color that gives me the most excitement.  Favorite color too!
