The lotus I started from seed this year that I got from Scott (pondmaninAl) is gonna bloom. It has a bud.

That must be the American lotus seeds. The Sacred lotus takes longer and is much bigger.

oh how nice, I tried once but made the mistake of putting the small seedlings in small square pots, big mistake, they all died........now I know round so I will try again next spring, I'm sure I still have some seeds somewhere.

Yep, that's the American. I think I sent you a few that I collected last year in Florida and a few that I already had. I don't know what color(s) that you like but to me, the Sacred Lotus is prettier with huge pink blooms getting up to 12" in diameter.
