It is the same bird he picked up in Oklakoma a few years ago now. Thanks Mikey for adding the link. I was trying to find those photos for this post but can't find them right now. Pete has done a lot on it already, manufactured a new tail, complete over haul on the engine, repaired the fiberglass and and redone the landing gear. It's ready for paint now. He has also imported Rotor blades from Florida, and created other missing bits and pieces. He's spent a good deal of time creating a new tensioner for the helicopter as well. The orignal had some majors problems. The project is taking a bit longer than planned partly because of his mom's illness and passing this time last year. Since then he's helped his Dad sell the house and get settled into an Assisted Living in Victoria. Thankfully Pete's retired and able to take that time with his folks. He really enjoys working on it as time permits. I also insist we get away for short holidays on our respite weekends so that doesn't leave a lot of time for the project. There is also the 47 Dodge project in the other part of the shop that needs attention. He's got both ready for paint now.
Pete had to take the helicopter out of the shop to do the brakes on my car so it was an opportunity for some photos. It's just too cramped in there to get any photos.
He still plans to fly it some time soon.
