I guess I was confused and thought perhaps Gary was going on to a late afternoon/evening wedding on Friday and perhaps that was why he mentioned "more centralized". However, if he's staying in Newport Beach there are plenty of coastal restaurants including River's End Café in Seal Beach which is nothing fancy but has good food. http://riversendcafe.com/

Hi Ladies and Gents:

I'm here. I have family obligations tonight in Newport, but I am up for whichever restaurant is preferred at high noon on Friday. I am somewhat flexible on time (other family obligations in the evening in Venice). I love all food, as many can tell from my sevelt figure. I'm heading out now, but will check when I get back to the hotel.

Sorry to report that I won't be able to attend lunch with my Ponder friends. DH wants to go to Vista in San Diego county to see a luthier (guitar maker), since we are in San Clemente.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the guys, Gary and have lots of fun in SoCal. Drive the PCH since you have a cool car to drive. It's gorgeous between Newport and Venice! Enjoy the wedding in Solvang. By coincidence I will be in that charming town next weekend after we visit Paso Robles for tasting/drinking wines.

We all did arrive and had a fun lunch! Took some very poor photos. Will post a few. Also will post a "Flip Cam" video later
Waiters are not "steady" photographers :'( The pix are hardly worth posting. Maybe if you are drinking they will look ok?

Good suggestion for lunch. Wow after a few beers the photos do look clear. Thanks for being patient with my arrival...I didn't realize I needed a helicopter. I don't know how people deal with 405 everyday, but I'm glad I don't have too.

Don't blame the photographer.... The photo clearly was taken during that 6.5 earthquake....

Twas fun getting together again with Jerry, Mike and Elaine and it was good to finally meet you Gary. Sorry about the traffic.....but you probably looked pretty cool crawling along in your Corvette.... Enjoy Santa Barbara and Solvang tomorrow!

Nice to see you all had a nice meal together. I loved that buffet, so much of everything to eat.
Sorry I missed you all, it was only a quick 5 day trip for me. Hopefully the next time I travel down it can be better planned for a ponders party.

Yes to "Youtube" It is funny that the video is better than the photos.
I am sure it can be paused and continued, but I have yet to find out how. So what you see is a one shot deal.

Jerry, thank you for arranging for the beautiful weather, the Wedding was a Firestone Winery in Solvang with incredible vistas. Their Pinot Noir was good, but I wasn't thrilled with some of their other varieties. I had a great time driving up 154 from Santa Barbara my cousin was white knuckled and kissed the ground when we landed , err arrived in Solvang.

Nice to see everyone had a good time. Hopefully we all get together here again some time soon. We will be here in Jan when you come up Gary. We were at a wedding too at the Taigh-Na-Mara Resort in Parksville this weekend. The weather was wonderul, the views stunning. The bride's family is Italien so lots of good food and wine. The desserts were especailly hummy.
