Pond reconstruction
« on: September 14, 2010, 06:43:54 PM »
We have finally started on rebuilding the pond. The skid loader is here and has been used to get things ready. Next will be to form concrete footers and build block walls.

Wow, I'm really impressed when people are able to do such large, deep, well-constructed ponds.  It looks like it will be a beaut!

Keep us posted with pics.

With a skid loader I suspect this will be a substantial sized pond.  Can't wait to see the progress!

Looks very familiar! We rented an auger to dig out plumbing drains and hoped to also finish our collar on Labor day weekend. Unfortunately we didn't get as much done as we had hoped...and then the remnants of tropical storm Hermine filled the hole! It might be dry enough to work in this weekend. At least you chose to get started as temps cool off!

The boulders have been put in place now at the "top" of the pond where they will be separating the pond from the greenhouse.

The stacked stone looks fabulous!  Hope you had mechanical help doing that!

Jessica, that really sucks!  Now you have to re dig the whole pond again!?!

It just filled with water and made it messy to work in. No major set backs except for time. Also would have been nice to fill the pond up for free...too bad that liner wasn't in before Hermine got here!
