IWC visit
« on: October 06, 2010, 05:23:12 PM »
I am going to San Angelo tomorrow to have a look at the International Waterlily Collection.  o(:-)  Tim tells me that there should still be some nice blooms even this time of year.  I'll take pics to post when I return.

It is a detour on the way to my Moms.  It is only about 100 miles out of my way.

Mother is having some more issues and I am going to check on her and be a shoulder for my Sister who lives with her and works full time.  She is 83 now, and we haven't a clue what is going on with her.  In the past 3 weeks she has had 8 or 10 Dr appts and two trips to the ER.  Sister thinks she is now having panic attachs.  She started some physical therapy on Monday also.

Mother doesn't say much over the phone.  She did say she hasn't driver in over a month, so my sister has to take off work to take her to her appointments.

Sorry your mother is having difficulties.  It's generous of you to relieve your sister, too.  She'll appreciate all the physical and mental support. I'm sure it's not easy for to be so far away.

Looking forward to seeing all the photos of IWC ponds and gardens!

It's hard to watch our parents approaching the time when they are getting old. In fact, it's hard to watch it happening to me too.

Heck Esther, it's hard to see one's self get old!  It seems like it happens in increments. :'(

I know Jerry. It seemed just last week I was zooming around all full of energy and life and now somehow I had a 68th birthday Monday.

 @O@   I'm home

It was well worth driving the extra 120 miles and a night in a motel.   o(:-)

Most of the hardies were finishing up blooming, but the tropicals were beautiful.  Some of the colors didn't turn out well, but the St. Louis Gold is really gold and the Blue Cloud is really blue.

I took over 400 pics and you all know I'm not even good with a camera.  I haven't unloaded them all yet but some of them are here.

So many beautiful lilies!  Thanks for sharing your visit.  Wishing I could grow lilies half as nice.
