Sean has done it!   I just gave it a try and it works fine.  No one was there ,but that will change!
This is a great way to "talk" to other members, and a lot of fun!

The chatroom has been there even when the forum wasn't here. :D It was the link from the forum that was missing. I use Opera to go to the forums but I use IE for the chatroom. So the chatroom link is in my favorites on IE. I went there after I found the forum gone to see if anyone was talking. ::)

The chat room database is not integrated with the forum database so it never went down and was nothing more than an HTML link with a button. There actually isn't a chat database to back up so even if it went down, I could reinstall it in a matter of minutes. The problem with the Forum database is most of my backup's were corrupt and incomplete, a fault of the old software not backing up properly? I am not sure... The last five backup's I saved didn't work so we lost 2 months of posts, from June 12th to Aug 8th. Makes me wonder how long the hacker was working on shutting us down???

Anyway, we have a partial resore that we can reflect back on and this new database will be saved frequently in two different ways and stored in two different locations. We will not have this problem again.

Sean, you are wonderful to spend your time backing up this forum and all the other little things you do - above and beyond trying to recover the old data!

I had every intention of checking out the chat room last night - it's been forever since I've been in there.  I was so tired that I fell asleep before I had a chance to touch the computer.  Then I woke up at 11:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.  I just hate it when that happens!
