I'd say, unplug it, wait for it to dry out, press the button on the GFI protected electrical outlet to reset it (if you have reasonably new wiring, that circuit has, somewhere along its line, one of the GFI outlets), and then plug in your pump again.
My pump is submerged. But if I get wacko with the hose and let water get into the metal box containing the electrical outlets, the circuit breaker will click off. All I do is push in the button - I forget if it's the red one or the black one - and it resets. Unplugging the pump is an extra safety measure.
