Visited the Dr. Gunther von Hagens Body Works exhibit today.

My sister and her family came over from Victoria and we braved the horrid weather to view this display. It was even better than I had thought it would be. I highly recommend it to any one interesting in human anatomy.

I have heard really good things about it. Sorry about the weather though, I know it has been really unusally cold, snowy, etc. Think the East Coast is basking in our usual winter warmth.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike we had one or the best summers ever but are sure paying for it now.

Teresa The exhibit travels all over the world. Here's the link to the official website. I think it would a wonderful thing for all high school students to see. It's very well done.

It or something similar, as there was no Dr.'s name associated with it in the promos, was in Tampa for months.  I didn't go to see it, but remember reading at one point there were ethical questions being asked as to how the bodies were obtained.  No big surprise, they came from China.

I saw a show on TV about it. If I remember correctly, the German Dr. is the original, the Chinese are the imitators led by one of his former staff.

There are multiple traveling exhibitions.

The bodies are all used with permission, one of his first ones was a dear friend of his who willed himself to the Dr. as he was terminally ill and knew of his friend's work.

I think they are amazing but creepy.
