This is no job for a handy guy!  Those trees were 39 cents each long long ago.
The guys are good, but a few plants will be smashed. It is inevitable.

A Angels Trumpet got clobbered. but it is fine.

How many are being removed?  Those eucalyptus trees are messy but they provide such a nice canopy for plants below that may like filtered sun.  The poor little koala's may go hungry now.....  ;D

As long as they do the job right I suppose it is inevitable that plants below get clobbered....I'd be crying the whole time!

It is worse then I expected. I am sorry I did it.  OK some is inevitable, but the worker placing his gas can on top of a young philodendron is just stupid :'(
That's a crushed Angel's Trumpet in the foreground! :'(

I'm always afraid after a storm that a tree will get blown down changing the whole landscape of my back and side gardens.  Changing a shade garden into one in full sun would be disastrous!  The plants in the deep shade just can't take the burning heat rays of Ohio summer sun.  Moving plants around would not be fun in this awful heat.

I feel for you Jerry.  Cleaning up after thoughtless workers (especially after you have paid them) is disheartening to say the least.  Make sure you take it easy though and don't try to do it all in one day!   :)

doing it all in one day is long past. I know better now.
They may come back today and take care of a few odds n ends.  Why do I say "may"..because I am a skeptic these days.
It was hazardous work they did. I give them that!.
The trees were brittle and it was only a question of time till a limb wiped out the greenhouse.
I have had few fall just after I had passed by!

Thanks

Sorry to see all that damage  :'( :'( :'( I hope the guys come back to take away all the cut trunks.

Just an idea, I know if I lived near you I would definitely help take some of those large stumps from you (and I can lift weights over 200lbs, yeah right).  Arrange the stumps for seating around a raised pond or table.  Good until the termites come around, as my DH would say.  But do eucalyptus attract termites?

I did think of that Annette, but i save too much stuff as it is..
I just cleand out my closet of shirts that I never wear!  Now my stuff fits in without jamming!

I think Eukes are pretty termite resistant.  They taste awful! lol
I will post pix as soon as the camera program cooperates with me

Oh wow, those trees are tall!  Sorry to hear that some plants get damaged.   :'(  Sad to see the trees come down but like you said, it is inevitable.  Sure hope the damage was minimized though...

Of course the guys did not come back to finish what we agreed too. Emails and phone messages are unheeded.
I did not hold out any money this time because I was so glad to get them out of here!

He has a license and I am very willing to jeopardize it!
Yes, Ill give him the chance to make it right.  With his crew they can be done in an hour!

I have been cleaning up for a few days.  I can only do an hour or so at a time with my bum knee.

This was a nicely planted area!  I am replanting again as you see. All very drought tolerant plants.

we agreed to leave the stumps (very low) and poison them.  If they did I am not aware of it.

I would have been more buisness like. but was anxious for them to GO!. very anxious!

I have a guy I love but he is not insured. He is thorough and works like fiend!

In that case I can understand you being a tad bit nervous when he was way up in that tree and why you would be glad when he was off the property.....
