now called "Monday Morning" The writer- director- producer is a classy guy.I think some of my friends here may find this interesting!
Dear Cast and Crew of Monday,
I’m sending my best wishes. Here are some updates:
1. The title of “Monday” will now be “Monday Morning”
2. We have finished editing, that is to say the proverbial “cutting” and have a final cut.
The project is now in Post-Sound. This is where the Dialogue Editing takes place. Basically dialogue is cleaned up. It is a detailed and time consuming process. Then Sound Effects (horns, cars, thunder, birds, etc) are added along with Foley (footsteps, etc). Then we will add all ADR – where certain actors will redo some words or lines (because there may have been some outside interference or technical issues during production).
Once we are done with Post Sound, the project will go into Color Correction. Basically match each part of the scene with as much continuity in lighting as we can. And also to alter the lighting/contrast to a degree where it will affect a scene as well.
Then, we go into a Final Mix. This is where we take all of the sound elements - Dialogue, effects (FX), foley, music scoring and songs – and “mix” them together, increasing/decreasing the volume of each element and blending them to best tell the story.
Then we will be done I am guesstimating about 3-4- weeks.
At this juncture, Peter Sirinvasan is our Post Production Supervisor and Sound Designer.
We also have two sound editors on board – Anna and Justin.
And we have two marketing people on as well - Shannon and Shane.
We are going to start marketing this movie at around the middle of July. Some movement has already started. If you have any ideas that you would like us to consider, please feel free to contact us.
For what it’s worth, I’ve shown this rough cut without SFX , VFX or a mix to some “outsiders” – some in L.A. and some in MN words like “riveting”, “engrossing” and “passionate” have arisen. In each case there has been some discussion about the subject matter.
I am extremely pleased by this.
I would like to end by again thanking everyone involved. A truly big Thank You to everyone – to the smallest actions delivered by art department, grip and lighting, transpo, catering, wardrobe, makeup, sound, camera, administration staff, production staff, assistants, the interns and Pas, the cast – everyone!
Nat
