Anyone use CPAP?
« on: October 07, 2011, 04:14:03 PM »
I just had my second sleep study (moderately severe sleep apnea).

Slept great with the nose-only CPAP mask/system.  Dr. writing a scrip for that set up.

Anyone else use CPAP?  Tips?

Thanks.

Glad to here!

Sean told me about a "Tens" machine.  I will tell the Dr. Thursday!

I wish I knew more about it to give you tips.  I know several people who use them and they say they have had the best night's sleep ever after using one.  They get up feeling rested and refreshed.

What a wonderful invention:  the use of air to keep one breathing in their sleep!  They are much quieter now than the ones from a few years ago and much less cumbersome.  Good luck with yours!   @O@

My BIL has a similar sleep apnea machine that he has been using for the past year plus and he loves it!  He feels more rested than he has in his adult life AND his wife has never slept better since they married!  :D

I'm wishing DH would get one too.  I'm a light sleeper to begin with and DH's snoring has made me a non-sleeper most of the time.

Good luck to you and great news for your DW.

I imagine the machines for sleep apnea are suited more for that purpose. I have had a CPAP machine on in order to see what its like for EMS purposes. They are used for patients who's respiratory drive is failing. Not much fun at all. I don't see how anyone could sleep with it on.

I picked up my CPAP machine Friday and have used it FRI/SAT/SUN nights.  So far, so good.

Feel pretty good.

O0 Good to know.  My BIL has the whole hockey mask like gear he has to wear but it doesn't bother him anymore.

My father and two of my brother in laws use them. They all feel they are very beneficial and they don't want to try to sleep without their CPAPs. They take them when they travel etc.
