My falls are flowing nicely, but... I KNOW the ANSWER!
« on: February 25, 2012, 05:18:54 PM »
I no longer see the rush of water into the skimmer-leaf basket.  The priming pot gets loded more rapidly.
What is going on?
The water to the falls must be coming from the skimmer. Puzzled.

It came to me as I was in bed.  So simple! The hose that runs from the skimmet to the pump is NOT CONNETED!
That's why there was NO flow into the skimmer! So simple. The stuff that would normaly would go in the leaf basket, goes directly to the priming pot.  Thus the pot fills faster.

That dead turtle was probably trapped by the suction.
I don't relish getting in there, but I will and must.

Glad you found the problem Jerry.  I was thinking that it might be a plugged pipe, but I am not familiar with your pond hardware.  Sorry about your turtle.  Hopefully you will have it fixed and turtle safe soon.

I don't know that I am right, but feel it has to be the answer. so logical.
I had to climb 11 stories to day (elevator not working)  I sure felt it. I will do the pond as soon as I can.
I need to cool it for a few hours.

Yep it was the connection.  Water was so darned cold. We resituated the skimmer too, now it is directly opposite the falls as it shoul be.  The water is sparkling!
The connection was merely a press fit!  No tools needed.  Picture to follow.
