of my first try at Creme Brule'. Once it was done I realized it is just plain ole "custard" like we made on the farm all the time. Cream and eggs were easy to come by. Mother didn't do the burnt sugar on the top. I used the Turbinado for the top and it was real crunchy. We all liked it. My grandson said it tasted like roasted marshmallows.

Not sorry you missed the Shrimp Scampi and angel hair pasta? I served Spaghetti Sauce too because I thought Steve was coming, asparagus, corn, broccoli, fruit, and green and ripe olives.

Your dad got a gift certificate from Lowes and some kind of little hand saw that is real thin to get into tight spaces.

Looks very tasty.  The fetching one loves Mexican flan.  I wonder if your Creme Brule' and flan have the same basic ingredients....?  I need to learn a good flan recipe that she will like.  We have a Cuban friend who makes flan and every time the fetching one eats flan at a restaurant she has to compare it to Marta's flan....  So far no one has flan as good as Marta's flan.... :-)~ :P
