What I got in the mail today
« on: May 14, 2012, 03:33:00 PM »
Got some plants to see what some of the competition is like.  The entire small priority box had a weight of 1 lb with 3 water lilies & 3 lotus tubers.  :o  The hardy lilies are the size of the tiny stubs I leave to go WITH the main lily crown.

Is this typical?

Kat

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

Hi Kat, do the lotus tubers look like they will make it? Yes, the lilies look small, compared to the ones I have gotten in the mail. My neighbor is desperate for a lotus, and if it wasn't too much, I think she'd take a chance on them. If you want to PM me who you got them from, that would be great, or if you have any you want to part with, and risk sending a tuber, let me know that too. Thanks.

I got something like that in the mail long before I discovered AP.  They were so small and the roots did not look healthy on my lily and the lotus tuber had a "smell" to it that I never bought from that online store again.  I am glad for this forum.

If it was from a private hobbiest, maybe they are new and do not know what would be considered too small to sell without letting the buyer know of the size?

My next female cat will be called "Whata Lily"!

These actually came from a seller on ebay that has been selling for several years with good feedback.  Wish me luck in getting all of them to do well.

Kat I have NOT had very good plants from E-bay either...I haven't ordered from E-bay in well over 5 plus years because I never was happy with what I got...
