I wrote this 2 years ago. Thought I would repost it.
A Fallen Soilder
I have fought in mud. I have fought in rain. I have fought to stay alive while my comrads were slain.
I have witnessed death. I have seen miracles. I have thanked for every breath.
Sometimes while out I feel so at peace. Sometimes while out I feel no inner need. Sometimes while out my attention is so direct. Sometimes while out adrenaline is how I feed.
I have taken this task to show you my pride. I have sacrificed myself for you to feel alive.
I feel your heart when trouble comes to be. I feel your love as it touches me. I reflect often not knowing where is the proof. But love from my home makes me fight harder for our truth.
Memorial day is here and feelings are in the air. Memorial day is also for people that are still here.
Remember the loved ones that might be gone. Remember the soilders that let life go on.
Remember my friends I ask of you. Remember me if you can fit it in too.
