Not sure I like being the fish food
« on: June 11, 2012, 05:17:48 PM »
It has been several years since I've been able to step into my biggest pond.  Rehomed the big goldfish this spring so I could take down the wire cages & fishing line.  Just got so tired of looking at it & not being able to get to my lilies.  Anyways, some eggs must have survived on some plants, so now I've got a bunch of babies in there.  I wade in to pick off dying pads & they nibble on my legs & toes.  It is a weird feeling & not sure I'll ever get used to it.

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

It's kinda cool thought when they do that. They are afraid when you are outside the pond but when you are in their territory, you're one of them.

Kat, I saw a documentary on TV about 2 weeks or so ago talking about "specialty" spa in Singapore.  This store used fishies to clean dead cells off of people's feet!  You have a pedicure spa practically at your own backyard.   {:-P;; ;D

Not sure if the goldies will give you a complete spa treatment!   ;D :D  The nibbles do freak me out especially if the fish is big enough to go for the toes  :o  I wear extra long thick socks when I get into my 18" deep pond to do work.  Still freaks me out but less so with the socks.
