Lotis for the Pond?
« on: February 15, 2007, 01:50:11 PM »
I just read great how to's for planting lotis and both talk about compost and Osmocotin for container planting. I am planing on putting mine When I get her, Momo Botan, in my pond. Do you still recomend the compost and is it and the time released safe for the fish and will it cloud the water? Please be patient with me as I have done gardening for years but water plants is my new passion  o(:-)  and I don't know much about? :(But I'm eager to learn! @O@

Debbie, I use compost and Osmocote, and my fish, cats, dog,
wild birds & wild animals that drink from the pond are all still alive. O0
Water is gin clear, but then again, I only use Osmocote or Multicote.
I never use pond tabs or any similar 'tab' fertilizer.
Just Osmocote once in the spring when I repot, and that is it for the season.
Simple, cost efficient, effective ...AND EASY! 8)
Peace to all  ... Joyce

Joyce, thanks so much one of the articals I read was yours and I was hopeing to here from you. Also I was rereading threw my  The Water Gardener and was reading about the Pink Ribbin, That's you isn't it? Congrats on a job well done. I put it together when viewing some of your pictures and thought wonder how she gets her name on her photos? I would love to get something named for April national transplant and donner month. My granddoughter had a double when she was 20 months old. Liver And small bowel. Her cousion from Alaska is getting a kidney from his dad in March, and my dh is on the bottom of the liver list. And the very strainge things is none of these 3 people are blood related.
Thanks again for the good info.
