Midorigoi have what I like to say as a "Short Shelf Life". They are normally sold as Tosai (1yr. old or less) because they start falling apart soon after that. Most get black spots over their body and head, giving a Unrefined look.
Ochiba is one of my favorite varieties. Even the best ones bring less money to the breeders than other varieties so a limited amount of effort is put in to produce them. If you find a real nice one let me know.

I see you're in Nashville (Used to work there). The Louisville Koi Show is in May, many vendors are there selling Koi, I'd suggest you marking your calendar.
