I am wishing for a "snow day"- off from school. Not for me ( ;))- for my kiddies! They could really use a day off, playing in the snow and forgetting about school/homework/deadlines/stress.
Of course, we got them big hearts full of chocolate. But we are determined not to eat any of it (yeah right!). I propose that it will all be gone by noon.  :)

  We got a snow day today (Tues.), 1st one this year. My youngest 'kid' is 18 but it was fun having him home too. :)

We woke up to a 2 hour school delay, but that may end up getting extended.
Everything is white out there, and now being coated with pure ice.
The Salt/Sand trucks are rumbling by every 15 minutes, like a mini earth quake.
So I have been awake since 5.
Plus Bill is on the schools phone chain getting the word out about the delay.

So far I have a couple cards. o(:-) o(:-)
Bill says I am supposed to be getting something at work today.
But I may not be going in this weather. :no:

An old fashioned chocolate bunny (I thought they were for Easter but I'll take chocolate in any form  ;D), a lady's slipper orchid and a card.. o(:-)

I haven't gotten anything and it's got me a little worried. . . . I usually get a nice bouquet of flowers from my husband for my birthday (4 days ago) and didn't get that either . . . . do you think he's trying to tell me something?

I hafta go out and get his card still . . . . my oldest DD is home sick with a head cold . . . and she needs the break too, been staying 3 hours after school every day for over a week and then coming home and doing homework - think she's tired.

We're on snow day number two today. Dh and I are off of work (I work part time and opted to avoid the roads yesterday and today). DH has an awful cold and has been home sick for quite a while - he told me he was going to get me a valentine thing today but has been sleeping pretty much since Monday night so it didn't happen. I'm not upset. He's usually very thoughtful. I imagine he was going to get me a plant or flowers, otherwise he would have gotten candy days ago when he took my daughter out shopping. I think she got me chocolate. I hope so. Nothing worse than being cooped up inside without chocolate!

Nothing yet, but usually chocolate!
I fix a Valentine dinner for the family, but it has been delayed until tomorrow evening because of the weather.  When we moved into this house, I realized that the dining room didn't get used often enough, so I started this tradition.  I remember how exciting it was the first year, our sons were 8 and 10.  We dimmed the lights, lit candles, soft music and I made them dress for the occasion!  They kept hoping that someone would come to visit and see what was going on. ;D  While our sons were in high school they would bring their sweeties.  We will have steak and shrimp, chocolates decorating the table, cheesecake for dessert and lottery tickets under their plates!

We went out for breakfast this morning and went to Lowe's were DH picked up a new rechargeable DeWalt drill. He was spending his Christmas and birthday GCs. I bought him a Mounds candy bar for Valentine's day. Nothing yet from him.
