Rain dance........Maybe
« on: July 14, 2013, 01:15:51 PM »
Holding my breath, hoping we are going to get rain today.  It's getting bad out here.  I'm paying these storms hold together and give us some moisture.  If it doesn't rain this week, probably no corn crop again this year.

We are also praying for rain before the native grasses totally 'die' until next spring.

It's really getting scary with the drought continuing this year.  The lady I take care of lived through the dust bowl.  Her stories about those times give me nightmares.  Storm is about 1/2 hour out, but has big hail with it.

Well, we are getting rain.  Hopefully you'll get enough to make a difference, too, & without nasty hail or winds.

There is never enough room for all of the water lilies that I want ;-)

Well, we have dew, fog and 'damp'...I won't hold my breath, but maybe...

I did a little 'shuffle' this morning while putting out a little fertilizer "in case".

We were dry last summer and getting too much this year.

Last week we got six inches of rain dumped on us in about an hour!  I was in town at my Moms when it happened.  We have a creek that winds through our property.  I knew it was bad when the "road closed" sign was sitting at the intersection.  When we turn off the road onto our lane, we drive over a concrete bridge.  The water had been over the bridge and logs were laying on top of it.  Hubby texted me that he was getting the tractor because the lane was washed out between the house and bridge.  A neighbor stopped and helped clear the bridge and hubby graded the rock back onto the drive as best he could.  We had just got a new load of rock on our drive..................it wasn't even paid for yet and now it is down the creek!!!  >:(-

I hope you guys get rain.  We hauled water from our creek last summer to water the garden and flowers  The drought killed most of the redbud trees in our area and a lot of cedars and pines.
